Chapter 1196
“I…I won’t…” Anne covered her cheek. “I will keep the mask on at all time. I won’t take it off…”
She had misunderstood what Anthony meant, but Anthony did not intend to exin.
Anne had challenged him over and over again and it was time for him to give her a wake–up call.
“I’ve consulted the doctor in the Authentic Clinic and he said that I can get a skin graft. I won’t like this
anymore.” Terrified of the possibility of not being able to see her children again, she pleaded.
However, Anthony remained as cold as steel the entire time. Once the car stopped, Anne held onto the
car door and refused to get out.
“Keep doing that if you want me to break your arm!” Anthony roared ruthlessly.
The memories of how her shoulder was nearly dislocated, she let go and Anthony impatiently dragged
her out of the bar, before pulling her forward.
She looked up at the building before her and instantly realized that he was taking her to Julie’s
apartment.
‘Where is Anthony taking me here? Why…‘ She thought.
He neglected her fear and shoved her into the apartment forcefully.
Anne was familiar with the surroundings, but did not understand why Anthony had brought her here.
“Why…did you bring me here?”
“Reflect on yourself here. You are not in the right mind and you are not allowed to go anywhere!”
Anthony said viciously, before turning to leave.
Anne froze, unable toprehend what he meant. When she finally noticed that Anthony was leaving,
she hurried after him and blocked his way. “What do you mean? I am in the right mind. Where should I
have to stay here? No way! I want to go back to the Royal Mansion…”
She tried to run outside, but he pinned her against the wall and she whimpered in pain.
“Stay right here!” He roared.
She grabbed onto his shirt. “Take me with you. I want to go with you…”
He caressed her cheek as though he did not see the scar on her skin. “I thought you
hated me? You can keep hating me here. Let’s see how long you willst.”
“Nothing happened between me and Tommy. I swear it…” She sobbed.
He stared at her furiously, but managed to suppress his rage, before exiting through the door.
“Baam!”
The door was mmed shut and was automatically locked. She was stunned at first, but hurried over
to try and open the door once she realized that she had been left behind.

“Anthony! Anthony, open the door! Let me out!” She shouted and punched on the door, not stopping
even when her hands began to hurt. Even so, there was no response.
“Open the door! Open the door now! Somebody! Anthony…Anthony Marwood, I hate you!” She
dragged a chair open and flung it at the door.
“Baam!”
Anthony narrowed his eyes coldly outside the door, before walking into the elevator to leave.
Drained, Anne fell onto the ground as tears scrolled down her cheeks, all the while thinking to herself,
‘Why would he do this to me? Why?!‘
Anne turned around and stared across the living room at the balcony, before struggling to crawl over
and leaning on the fences to search for Anthony outside of the building.
There was nothing because the balcony did not face the entrance of the building but the garden.
Anne backed away and curled up on the couch, her face as pale as a ghost and the sharp scar on her
cheek had made her appear extremely pathetic.
‘How long is he going to keep me here?‘ She thought, ‘He said that I’m not in the right mind. Is it
because I fought back and said that I hate him? I didn’t even hate him at first…‘
She leaned on the couch helplessly, before finally drifting off to sleep from exhaustion.
After a while, she heard the digital lock on the door opening and jolted awake. Once she came to the
realization that someone wasing, she hurried to the living room. However, it was not Anthony as
she had expected.
It was Kathryn, who carried her medical case and a lunchbox. Kathryn stilled for a moment when she
saw Anne, before walking over. “Are you hungry? I got you lunch. These are all really delicious.”
“Where’s Anthony?” Anne asked.
“Mr. Marwood is busy, so he called for me to bring you food,” Kathryn exined, “he also told me to
check the scar on your face. Why don’t you eat first?”
Anne turned around and sat down on the couch without a word, her face pale with a nk expression.
Kathryn decided not to take the lunchbox out of the thermal bag, concerned that it would get cold. She
walked over to check on the scar and put on her gloves before pressing on the scar gently. “Does this
hurt?”
“Visible scars are never the ones that actually hurt. The ones that hurt most are not visible to the
human eyes…” Anne muttered dazedly.
Kathryn knew what ‘scars‘ Anne was referring to, but even the best doctor in the world would not be
able to help with those. “Have you provoked him?”
Agitated, Anne retorted, “What do you mean, did I provoke him? So what if I did? Does that mean he
gets to lock me up here? To punish me? I didn’t do anything! Do you understand just how many
wounds I have suffered, the old and the new ones. I don’t even have the time or the means to heal
them. I don’t understand why Anthony is doing this to me! Wait, that’s right. I get it now. In the end…he
never truly cares about me. He has never cared…”
Her heart felt torn and every single breath she drew hurt.
She thought that loving him was enough. They had children and a family together, but still…
Kathryn could not understand Anthony either and if Anne herself felt like Anthony did not care, others
would only feel the same.
“Fine. Let him lock me up! There’s no light or hope in my life anyway!” She sobbed helplessly.
“Don’t think like that. Mr. Marwood probably did this because he is mad. It will be fine after a few days,”
Kathryn consoled her.
“Do you really…think so?” Anne questioned, her eyes filled with sorrow and confusion. The disbelief in
her eyes soon transformed into resentment. “Let me tell you, it will never be okay. He is a mad man!”
