Chapter 1079
Corentin held her and ced a hand over her stomach. “Once your ankle is better, I’ll take you to the
hospital for a check–up.”
She panicked and said, “Tina is already pregnant with your child. What’s the hurry?”
He chuckled. “Go to sleep.”
The next morning, Ashlynn noticed that her breakfast had resumed to the luxurious version it was
before.
‘Why, though?‘ she thought. She knew that Tina was the reason behind her missing meals. The maids
had failed to deliver breakfast to her the day before, and Ashlynn was prepared to experience worse.

At noon, lunch was as rich as ever; the tes were piled up with a big amount of food that she would
not be able to finish even if she ate consistently for three days. Feeling more and more suspicious, she
asked, “Is Tina eating downstairs?”
The maid hesitated to answer.
“What happened?” Ashlynn asked.
“Ms. Sparks had severe stomach painst night, and I heard that she was bleeding, too. They rushed
her to the hospitalst night,” the maid said.
Shocked, Ashlynn asked, “What? How did that happen?”
“I don’t know. She was experiencing difort at night, and because it was in the middle of the night,
we did not notice her condition until it was toote. It looked quite bad.”
‘Bad? So she might lose her baby?‘ Ashlynn thought.
“Which hospital?” she asked.
“Oasis Hospital.” The maid was present when Tina was rushed to the hospital and overheard the butler
saying the name of the hospital.
The maid exited the room, and Ashlynn instantly lost her appetite, wondering how this could happen.
Remembering that she woke up to an empty bed and Corentin was nowhere to be found the night
before, she took a few more mindless bites of her food before going downstairs.
The butler hurried over anxiously. “Ms. Thompson, just let us know if you need something.”
‘Why didn’t you act this nervous when Tina tried to hurt me two days ago?‘ Ashlynn thought
sarcastically.
“I need to go out.” She insisted, and the maid followed her into the car. Once she closed the door, she
commanded the driver, “Go to the Oasis Hospital.”
The driver started the car, and the maid helped Ashlynn into the hospital once they arrived.
They had to go to the reception to find out which room Tina was admitted to. They arrived at the room,
there were two beds, with one empty and Tina on the other, looking as pale as a ghost.
When she saw Ashlynn, Tina, burst into tears and pointed at Ashlynn. “It’s your fault, you b*tch! I
wouldn’t have lost my baby if it wasn’t for you! Give me my son back!”
Ashlynn did not argue. She was not offended and simply felt sympathetic.
She remembered when she woke up to the news that she had lost her child and knew just how painful
that was. She consoled herselfter on that perhaps it was the gods‘ will to prevent her from giving
birth to the child of someone as twisted and evil as Salvatore.
Tina’s cries echoed within the room, and Ashlynn could tell that she really cared about her unborn child,
whether it was because the father was Corentin or that Tina was simply mourning the loss of her own
child.
“I have nothing to do with this, right? You were the one who’s been ying tricks behind my back. You
fed chocte to my dog, tried throwing it into the river filled with crocodiles, and told the maids to dy
or even skip the meals that were supposed to be delivered to me. I don’t think I’m falsely using you,
am I?”
Ashlynn had never confronted Tina, but it did not mean that she was blind to what had happened. Ever
since Tina arrived at the mansion, idents had never ceased.
