    Tommy gazed up. “You killed her?”


    “She fought back when we tried to arrest her and shot at the police. You need to cooperate and tell us


    everything you know!” Marco deadpanned.


    Not wanting to be bothered with speaking to him, Tommy studied Marco’s face. “I know who you are,


    Marco York. You were born in Athetin and were transferred here because you crossed someone higher


    up. It looks like you are itching for another internal transfer.” Marco’s expression darkened. “I’m a police


    officer, and it’s my job to fight the bad. That’s the only way that I can be proud of the job I’m doing. Mr.


    Marwood, refusing to cooperate will not work in your favor.”


    Tommy stared at him coldly without any words.


    Marco stood up. “If there’s nothing else that you wish to say, we will have to resort to looking into this


    on our own. You will be allowed to leave if we don’t find any new evidence in the next 48 hours.”


    Tommy’s expression darkened.


    He did not realize that Marco meant what he said until the door to the trial room closed.


    Tommy was furious but forced himself to calm down.


    He finally understood why Anthony was left with no choice but to leave Anne alone in the station.


    Marco must have yed a great part in it.


    ‘Where on earth did this stubborn rock of a persone from?‘ he thought.


    After being locked in the room for 48 hours, he was released due to theck of evidence.


    He walked out of the police station and toward his car with an angered look. He did not even need a


    mirror to know how difited he looked at the moment.


    “Tommy!”


    He looked around and saw Lucas running toward him. ” Are you waiting here for me?”


    “How is Anne doing? I heard that they released her. What’s going on?” Lucas asked.


    “I pity you. She’s Mrs. Marwood now. You are in no ce to worry about her,” Tommy mocked.


    “She… She got married?” Lucas said in shock, clueless as to what had happened.


    It had been a long time since hest spoke to Anne because he did not wish to put her in a difficult


    position. He had only found out that Anne was in trouble from the inte.


    “Get over yourself, Lucas. You have no role to y in this,


    “Tommy said rudely.


    “I just want to know what happened.”


    “She ran into a car ident and lost her memories. That monster, Anthony, tricked her into marrying


    him and lied to her. Right now, she only has eyes for Anthony, and both you and I have no ce in her


    life. Understood?” Tommy opened the car door and went in angrily before driving away.


    Lucas remained frozen in ce as he tried to process what Tammy had told him.


    ‘Anne lost her memories, and now she only has eyes for Anthony… How did that happen?‘ he thought.


    He thought back to the way Anne looked at him as she was escorted to the police vehicle and realized


    that she was merely looking at him like she would a stranger.


    Tammy managed to leave, but Bianca remained inside and transferred from the trial room to the


    holding cell.


    “Open the door! I want to get out! I want awyer! I haven’t done anything!” she yelled through the


    gate. However, as everyone had grown used to her screaming in the past two days, no one spared her


    another look.


    Two more days passed, and Bianca had given up on screaming andy on her bed in devastation


    when she was eventually released due to theck of evidence.

    throughout. her time in the police station.
