Chapter 394
Anne did not want to leave, but she had no choice or freedom in front of Anthony.
After saying goodbye to the children, she returned to the fifth floor.
Though she had checked Anthony’s location ahead of time, she still slowed down and started tip–toeing
when she reached the corner of the stairwell.
She inserted the key into the door and walked into the living room in relief, but soon noticed the jacket on
the ground that she had stomped on multiple times.
She paled and hurried over to pick it up, shaking the dust off of it, but it did not help with the wrinkles or
the footprints on it.
The clothes that Anthony was seen wearing had always been wrinkle–free and now, it was simply hard to
look at.
Anne checked the time and knew that she needed to restore the jacket to what it looked like, or Anthony
would realize what she had done to it with one simple look.
What she did to the jacket was a direct insult toward Anthony and Anne did not want cause herself any
more trouble.
She went and found the iron Cheyenne left behind and started ironing the jacket. Since Anthony’s main
purpose was to pick up his jacket, she could start cooking after she had fixed the jacket.
Frustrated, she could not help but press the iron onto it with all her strength.
She had refused to take his jacket and he forced her to wear it, and now he wanted to drop by and take it
back.
‘That’s just so unnecessary,‘ she thought. ‘He even tried to get a meal out of it. What am I supposed to
cook for someone like him? Whatever. He seemed alright with what I whipped upst time.”
Once she was done, she lifted the jacket to check. Her eyes slowly widened in disbelief as she ced it
under direct light and sniffed it. Anthony’s scent on the jacket wasced with a burnt scent and the yellow
stain was not a ‘stain‘, but a burnt mark.
‘What should I do? Is he going to get all angry again?‘ She thought, ‘Probably not, right? It’s just a piece
of clothing. I…I can pay him back. I suppose that I should be able to afford it.‘
Distracted by her thoughts, Anne came close to burning the food when she cooked.
When she heard noises outside the door, she realized that Anthony had arrived and went to open the
door.
Anthony stood outside the door. He shot her a nce and went in to find his jacket on the couch.
“I will go to the kitchen first. Dinner is almost ready.” She hurried back to the kitchen, her heart
threatening to leap out of her chest when she saw the way he looked at the jacket.
When dinner was ready, she heard Anthony’s voice from the living room, saying, “Come out here.”
She jolted warily, and headed out of the kitchen hesitantly, tensing when she saw the jacket in Anthony’s
hands.
“Exin this,” he said.
The yellowish burnt mark was hard to miss on the ck suit jacket.
“You…you said you were going to take it so I figured I should iron it first, and then…” Her eyes darted
away. “How much is it? I will pay you back…”
“Are you sure?” He tossed the jacket back to the couch.
“Y–Yeah,” Anne said, thinking that she had made herself clear.
“It costs 135 thousand. Go ahead and pay.”
“?!” She gaped at him. “You…are you trying to scam me? How can this be so expensive?” “You should
be d that this is one of the cheaper ones that I own.” He stared at her expressionlessly.
Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDra/ma.O(r)g!
She bit on her lower lip and thought to herself, ‘135 thousand? I might be able to pay him back if it was
135 bucks.‘
