    The first person that came to his mind was Anne.


    Only Anne was the closest to Sarah.


    Anne received a phone call from Sarah, suggesting they have a meal together.


    “Did you get new clues?” In the expensive restaurant, Anne looked at the person grinning ear to ear in


    front of her, and she could not help but ask.


    Sarah said, “No, nothing to find out about.”


    Anne could not help but feel a little disappointed.


    To be detested by Anthony felt as bad as being targeted by a demon.


    Sarah knew what Anne was thinking, but she chose to ignore it.


    After all, the shareholding in Marwood Group was more appealing.

    Anne could only nod her head, but she no longer had high hopes.


    After the meal, Anne did not go in Sarah‘s car but took a train back.


    The kids were not around, and she nned to stay on the  fifth floor.


    Walking up the staircase to the fifth floor, she bumped


    into the man who was descending down the very same flight of stairs, Ron.


    Anne was stunned. “Ron?”


    Ron did not expect her to be back so soon and was quick topose himself. “Now that your mother


    and I are separated, you don‘t have to be a stranger. We are not in the office as well. You can call me


    Uncle Marwood.”


    Anne could not decipher what he was up to, then asked,”

    “No matter what, you only end up this way because of Anthony. I had always wanted to visit you, only

    Anne still could not read him, and it somehow made some  sense.


    After all, the fact that she could no longer conceive a child  after the abortion was pretty tragic.


    As Anthony‘s father, it was normal for him to express his care and sympathy as Anthony‘s father, except


    that Anne was not ready to ept that.


    However, she did not show it. “Thank you for your concern, Mr. Marwood. I am fine.”


    “So, when would you return to work?” Ron asked.


    Anne initially thought about leaving and did not have the intention to return to the Marwood Group.


    However, now she thought she needed the job.


    After all, she had three kids to raise! Plus, the wages for the nanny.

    “I will return once I am fully rested.” Anne did not give  him an exact time.


    Ron nodded and said, “That should do. Then go on and have a good rest. Just let me know if you need


    anything, and I will do my best topensate you.”


    Anne looked at Ron, leaving, and thought, did he really want topensate her?


    Before Ron and Sarah divorced, he indeed opposed Anthony for Anne. He almost destroyed the


    Marwood Group because of that.


    It could be because of their rtionship back then, but what now? Was it because he was nostalgic?


    Anne returned to her apartment and walked to the living  room.


    She noticed something was wrong when she reached the  couch.
