    Brandon didn’t respond, nor did he hug me back. It left me feeling a little awkward, Just as I was


    about to pull away, I looked up and saw Chris standing nearby,

    My hands tightened again just as they were about to release Brandon. He tried to pull away. I held


    his hand firmly. “Don’t move.”


    He stopped while I continued to hug him. “Are you working overtime today?”

    Brandon turned around to catch a glimpse of Chris before looking back at me. At that moment, I

    grumbled as she beckoned me over.

    Brandon didn’t reply and continued walking. Kara came over to grab my arm and said with a


    mischievous voice, “Maddie, did you notice? Mr. Howell’s ears are red.”


    I hadn’t noticed. However, when she pointed it out, I nced over and saw that she was right.


    Brandon was a tough guy. I didn’t expect his ears to get red. It was actually kind of adorable.


    “Maddie, Mr. Howell is so innocent. Just a little hug and his ears turned red. He’s definitely a virgin,”


    Kara whispered in my ear.
