Redmption 202
Zack and Bree were really good to me. The thought ofbeling them as suspects filled me with
guilt.
But even Lisa was having these thoughts.

My heart felt like it was freefalling from a hundred meters above. Panic washed over me.
“I have to.”
The more my suspicions grew, the stronger my conviction to get to the bottom of all this. It was for
my father’s sake, and also to prove Zack’s innocence.
Lisa could read my mind. She said nothing, merely telling me that she was here for me.
Her words told me that she already had an answer in mind. However, only the truth about that day
would satiate my curiosity.
I hailed a cab after leaving the emergency ward. To my surprise, Stewart was still there. He talked
on the phone as he walked, carrying the medicine with him. “Yeah. She fiddled around with the
screen. She said she was trying to get some music ying.”
A chill ran down my spine, despite the hot sun above me.
It was obvious who Stewart was reporting all this to. But why was he doing that? If there was
nothing to hide, simply fiddling around with the screen wouldn’t be something that needed
reporting.
My mind was in turmoil. I stared as he walked away, leaving my line of vision.
I wasted no time in getting the cab to drive me to Sylking Sanatorium. I feared that if I got there too
late, I wouldn’t be able to find what I was looking for.
However, the security at Sylking Sanatorium was really strict. I was stopped by the guards before I
even got the chance to go in. They asked me to provide them with the name of the patient I was
seeing, and the room number.
I knew who I was looking for, but I didn’t know the number of the room that he was in.
Besides, I didn’t dare to mention Arthur’s name. If the guards called him to make sure, I would be
completely exposed.
In the end, I said that my family had sent me here for a consultation. They rejected me, saying that
this ce didn’t ept consultations. I had to have an appointment beforehand to go in.
I knew what they meant very well. This wasn’t a ce where someone could just waltz in.
Sylking Sanatorium was definitely not like other ces, I couldn’t even go in.
As I thought about ways to get in, a car drove over with its window rolled down. I saw who it was
immediately.
I remembered his bald head all too well. It was the man who had attacked Brandon with his army of
men.
“I’m headed to Mr. Griffins,” the bald guy said.
The guards remembered him and immediately opened the gates.
Griffins was not amonst name. He was probably going to see Arthur.
That meant that he worked for Arthur, and since he had attacked Brandon, it meant that Arthur was
the man that Brandon had sniffed out. Could it be that Arthur also had something to do with
Brandon’s father’s death?
There were just too many coincidences.
Although I hadn’t met Arthur, I had at least seen the bald man.
I went home after that. On the way there, I received a call from Bree. “Maddie, Stewart said that
you’re sick. Are you alright?”
Her voice was hoarse. I remembered how Zack looked when I left, with his head of white hair. I
knew she had been crying.
My heart was in limbo right now. Although I didn’t want to cast my suspicions on them, I still felt
wary of them. I was doing my best not to overthink things, though. “I’m fine now, Bree. I had an
upset stomach, that’s all. I feel better after taking the medicine.”
“That’s good. Zack and I are very worried. We wanted to visit you in the hospital.” Bree’s words
were making me feel incredibly guilty. They still cared for me even though they felt miserable.
“I’m fine, Bree. Take care of Zack and yourself. And tell him to take it easy.” I felt sad thinking about
Zack’s white hair.
Bree sighed.
I couldn’t think of anything else to say. Wepsed into silence.
