Chapter 2153
"Don''t worry, I''ve got your back," Robin hurried to reassure her.
Diana rushed to him, clinging helplessly, "Robin, thank goodness you''re here. What if he barged in
—"
"He won''t, remember never to open the door so easily," Robin soothed her.
Fresh from a shower, the girl wore only a thin nightgown, her warmth and softness pressing against
him. Robin''s body tensed, his heartbeat quickening.
His rtionship with Sophia had never gone beyond kissing. First off, he''d poured all his energy into
thepany, showing little interest in romantic affairs. Second, Sophia had always been the one
pursuing him. Aware of her deep affection, he felt no rush to escte their intimacy to solidify their
rtionship. Moreover, he believed that men who used physicality to anchor a rtionship were
lowlifes, and he had no intention of stooping to that level.
But now, holding Diana, he felt a stir of emotion.
He immediately pushed Diana away, his gaze flickering as he feigned nonchnce, "Don''t worry, if
he dares toe back, we''ll call the cops and report him for harassment."
Diana nodded hesitantly, "Robin, could you stay tonight?"
"What?" Robin was taken aback.
"Don''t get me wrong, you can take the bedroom, and I''ll sleep on the couch. I''m just really scared,"
Diana rushed to rify.
Robin hesitated, "I don''t know if that''s appropriate. Maybe I should call a female colleague from the
office to keep youpany."
"It''s sote; I don''t want to trouble anyone." Diana looked down, her voice soft, "Never mind, you
should go back. I can stay up all night if I have to, it''s the weekend tomorrow, no work."
Robin frowned deeply, pondering for a moment before speaking in a calm tone, "Alright, I''ll stay. I''ll
take the couch, you get the bedroom."
"How can I let you sleep on the couch—"
"Enough," Robin cut her off with a chuckling smile, "Let''s not argue. If you want me to stay, then you
better head to bed. Otherwise, neither of us will get any rest."
Diana looked at him with grateful, shimmering eyes, biting her lip, "I really appreciate it, Robin. If
Sophia gets the wrong idea, I''ll exin it to her myself."
"No need. We''ve got nothing to hide," Robin dismissed the concern. "You better get some sleep."
"I''ll go grab you a nket," Diana''s tears turned toughter as she headed to the bedroom, her
sensual ck nightgown swishing as she walked.
Robin''s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly averted his gaze.
Jason had a social engagement that evening, but he was distracted throughout and returnedte to
his ce. He turned on the light, and images of Sophia lying in bed flooded his thoughts.
He sat on the balcony, phone in hand, hesitating for a long time before deciding to call her.
He just needed to know if she was feeling any better.
The phone rang nearly to the point of disconnecting before she picked up, Sophia''s frail voice
coming through, "Jason."
Jason''s brow furrowed instantly, "You''ve got a fever again?"
It sounded like Sophia touched her forehead, "Seems like it."
Jason''s voice turned grave, "Where''s Robin?"
Sophia said nothing.
Jason''s expression darkened, "Did you eat anything tonight?"
Sophia hesitated for a moment before replying quietly, "Not hungry."

Jason''s eyes turned icy with anger, visibly upset—whether at Sophia for not taking care of herself or
at Robin for neglecting her, he couldn''t tell.
Not wanting to say more over the phone, he put it down and stepped outside.
The cold night air hit him as he opened the door, helping him to cool down a bit.
After standing there for a while, he called Estelle.
