Chapter 2124
"Don''te near, or I''ll make sure you can''t even set foot in J City, let alone stay in a hospital."
Jonathan''s tone was indifferent, "By now, allowing you to stay in J City is already more courtesy
than you deserve. You should understand that."
"I do, I do," Bet quickly replied, "I''m well aware of my own actions, I''m grateful for your leniency,
truly."
"If you understand, then keep your distance from E. Stop bothering her."
"Mr. Lamont," Bet said urgently, "It was I who arranged for Estelle to marry into the Lamont
family. Now that you two are getting along so well, I''d like to think I did one good thing. Please, for
that, help me out one more time."
Jonathan frowned and spoke coldly, "Why does E have a father like you!"
Bet was visibly ashamed, "I failed as a father, I let Estelle down. I hope there''s still a chance for
me to make it up to her—"
"Don''t even think about it," Jonathan sneered, "She doesn''t need it."
"Mr. Lamont, please, save my wife," Bet''s voice was choked with tears, "I have nothing left to
hope for, just let my wife live, that''s all I ask. Even if she''s made mistakes, she deserves a chance
at forgiveness."
Jonathan raised his hand to massage his temples and said gravely, "The hospital bills for Simone,
I''ll have it taken care of, until she''s discharged."
Bet was taken aback, then overjoyed, "Thank you, thank you so much!"
Jonathan hung up the phone without another word.
The doorbell rang, and Jonathan went to answer it.
Emily stood at the doorway, holding an insted container, and smiled, "Is Estelle still in bed?"

"Yep, it''s Saturday, I let her sleep in," Jonathan replied with a faint smile.
"I made some breakfast this morning. It''s enough for two," Emily handed the container to Jonathan.
"Thanks," Jonathan epted it.
"Wait, Charlie, Kya, and I are heading over to the James'' for the day, we''ll probably be backte.
Tell Estelle I said hi," Emily said.
"Will do, have fun."
"I''m off," Emily waved and headed downstairs.
Jonathan ced the container in the kitchen and then turned back to the bedroom.
Estelle was still asleep, her face half-hidden under the covers, the sunlight caressing her cheek, her
porcin skin wless and tender like a child''s.
Jonathan bent down and kissed her softly on the cheek. Hershes fluttered, and soon she was
deep in sleep again.
Jonathan watched her intently for a long while before he sat back against the headboard, picking up
a book. As he read, he kept a gentle watch over her.
Estelle, in her sleep, turned and rested her forehead against his waist, seekingfort.
Jonathan''s hand, stroking her head, became even more tender, and he turned the pages of his
book with the utmost care.
The sun shone brightly, the room was warm as spring, and the Saturday morning felt full of promise.
About half an hourter, Estelle woke up. Her eyes still bleary, she looked at Jonathan''s legs, then
lifted her head to meet his gaze, and smiled.
Jonathan held her hand, "Does it hurt?"
Estellezily shook her head, "It doesn''t hurt."
"Want to sleep more? Or shall we get up and have something to eat? Emily dropped off breakfast."
Jonathan offered.
Estelle hummed a response, "What time is it?"
