Chapter 2095
Sylvia chuckled, "So you''d really pass up a catch like him for me?"
Magdalen sighed, "If I hadn''t already fallen head over heels for Morrison, I''d chase him down
myself!"
Sylvia just smiled and shrugged it off, "Honestly, I''m swamped these days; I''ve got no time for
romance!"
"When have you ever had time?" Magdalen teased. "Stop making excuses. I''ve never even seen
you date. As your friend, I think it''s high time you considered it!"
Sylvia closed her eyes as she remembered the night she left Citadel. The man had told her to find
someone she liked and to live a good life. She had agreed sincerely, truly believing it was time to
bid farewell to the past and start anew.
Noting Sylvia''s silence, Magdalen chuckled, "It''s just a meeting, not a marriage proposal. Think of it
as a life experience!"
As Sylvia signed off on a document, she replied with a light smile, "Alright, I''d be honored to have
you y matchmaker for me. I''ll meet him."
"It''s a date then!" Magdalen beamed. "How about tomorrow noon? I''ll set up the ce and let you
know."
"Just text me the details!" Sylvia shot back.
"Will do!"
After hanging up, Sylvia got back to work and called over her PR manager, instructing, "Bright
Horizon Corp has a new productunching up, and they want us to handle the whole event.
Get someone on that, will you?"
The manager, a sharp twenty-seven-year-old woman, grabbed the Bright Horizon file and nodded,
"Consider it done, boss."
"The CEO is a decent guy, but watch out for his deputy; he''s handsy. Whoever you send, make sure
they know to protect themselves. I won''t have any harassment on my watch!" Sylvia warned.

The manager grinned, "Understood. We all know the drill."
Sylvia''s protective stance had won her the loyal support of her staff over the years. She nodded
affirmatively, "It''s the weekend, and I hate to ask you all to stayte. The weather''s turning; head
home early."
The manager''s face lit up, "Actually, we were nning to grab barbecue tonight and wanted to invite
you. Are you free?"
Sylviaughed, "I''ll pass. You''ll all be there with your boyfriends. What am I supposed to do, be the
third wheel?"
The manager quickly offered, "I can ditch my date and we can be the third wheels together."
"Just kidding. I''ve got ns tonight. You go have fun!"
"Alright then!" The manager paused then added hesitantly, "Boss, you really should think about
dating too. Mr. Eugene has been sweet on you for over a year. Maybe give it a thought."
Sylvia''s smile softened. What was with today?
Everyone seemed concerned about her love life.
She nodded, "Sure, I''ll think about it after this busy period."
"Great, I''ll leave you to it. Don''t stay toote yourself!" the manager said with concern.
"I won''t. Tell everyone dinner''s on me tonight, and we''ll reimburse tomorrow at the office!"
"You got it!" The manager left in high spirits.
The door swung closed, and the office was filled withughter before quieting down. Alone, Sylvia
stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the dimming sky and the snowy, ss-
like expanse of J City, a wave of loneliness washing over her.
She''d been in J City for years, and this was the heaviest snowfall yet.
Sylvia enjoyed thepany of her colleagues, but the solitude that followed the noise and bustle
always felt jarring. Better to dwell in solitude than to return to it, she mused.
