Chapter 1931
Lynn chuckled without turning his head, "No, at least they won’t kill me. They still need me!"
A wave of relief washed over Evelyn. "Don''t stay here any longer. Lambert can help us get out. Come
with us!"
But Lynn shook his head in distress. "Once youe to Zion, there''s no leaving. Just go. Don''t stay
here for my sake. I''ve let you down. Forget about me!"
Tears streamed down Evelyn''s cheeks again. "Why does it have to be this way?"
Lynn said nothing more, his back retreating into the distance.
Lambert stepped out, pping Evelyn on the shoulder. "Dry those tears. He can''t leave Zion. It''s like
he''s already gone."
Evelyn''s sobs grew louder.
Lambert was in a foul mood, angry at himself for the whole mess.
So, he left Evelyn without furtherfort, his footsteps heavy as he walked away.
That night, Lambert tossed and turned, unable to sleep. Every tick of the clock was a reminder that
Re''s chances of waking up were slipping away. His anxiety was like a heavy chain, making each day
feel like an eternity.
In frustration, he got up to drown his sorrows in alcohol, feeling just like Re had used him of liking
to be tormented.
He had delivered Estelle straight into Raiden''s hands, and now he was restless to save her, though he
couldn''t understand why.
He took a swig of whiskey, his gaze settling on the distant research tower. He couldn''t pin all his hopes
on Lynn. He couldn''t wait any longer.
He had to act now!
As dawn broke, Lambert sat grim-faced in his room, making a series of phone calls.
As he went downstairs, he passed by Estelle''s room and, on impulse, pushed the door open.
Estelle''s room was spotless, as if it had never been upied.
The vanity was void of the usual makeup and jewelry that most girls cherished.
Lambert couldn''t help but smirk. He had never met a girl like her before, except for his goddess, of
course!
On the desky the backpack Estelle had brought with her. Curiosity piqued, Lambert walked over to
inspect the contents, but beneath the bag, he discovered a gold maic card with an apanying
fingerprint sticker.
A frown creased his brow as he examined the high-security card, typically reserved for Zion''s upper
echelons. Why did Re have it? And whose fingerprint was on the sticker?
Ever since Raiden had shown interest in Re, Lambert had been gued by doubts. Now, it seemed
the puzzle was even more intricate.
Interesting!
Late at night.
In the quiet of theb, Estelle grimaced in pain. Her mind was racked with unbearable agony, reliving

moments of desperation and death over and over for three relentless days and nights. The mental and
physical exhaustion hinted that she was caught in a vicious cycle, and she fought fiercely to break free.
The door opened, and a nurse walked in, her eyes widening in shock at the sight of Estelle''s struggle.
Most people would have lost consciousness by now, yet this girl''s willpower was astounding.
As Estelle''s struggles intensified, the nurse fetched a sedative from the cab and approached the
bed, ready to administer the injection.
Suddenly, a sharp pain pricked her arm. Looking down, the nurse saw a glint of metal between Estelle''s
fingers – a hidden needle.
Dizziness overwhelmed her in an instant, and her body swayed, copsing onto the bed beside Estelle.
