you going to be tied up today?"
"Not at all, I''m at the Langston''s,pletely free. Are you guys heading over to see Grandpa? I''d love
to join," Magdalen said.
It dawned on Estelle that she had indeed nned to visit her grandfather, and it was already ten
o''clock.
She raked her fingers through her tousled hair, "You go ahead, we''ll meet at my mentor''s ce!"
"Alright, see you in a bit!" Magdalen''s sultry voice trailed off as she blew Estelle a kiss before hanging
up.
Jonathan pulled the phone away and leaned in to nt delicate kisses on her chin.
Estelle squirmed, "I need to brush my teeth, and we really should get going. If we don''t make it to my
mentor''s by noon, Grandpa''s going to have a fit."
"No worries, he''ll scold me, not you!" Jonathan loved her sleepy andnguid look in the morning. After
a few more moments of kissing, he finally got up and took her with him for a morning shower.
Emerging from the bathroom, Jonathan helped dry her hair and picked out clothes for her; another half
hour went by.
He had ordered breakfast ahead of time, and they quickly ate before driving to Old Mr. Quintin''s ce.
A crowd had gathered around Old Mr. Quintin''s manor; all of them were aware that Old Mr. Jarvis had
arrived in J City and they were there with gifts to pay their respects.
Terrence was arguing with the security guard at the gate, clutching a genuine painting by King, "My
granddaughter is Old Mr. Quintin''s apprentice, the designer KING! You know her, right?"
The guard pointed to two other men he had just turned away and spoke in a t tone, "That gentleman
imed to be KING''s cousin once removed. Why don''t you verify your rtion first?"
Cousin once removed?
Terrence turned in surprise, his face darkening with anger, "My granddaughter is in her twenties, is that
man out of his mind?"
"He imed he was from a younger generation!"
Terrence was speechless and choked with fury. After calming down, he tried to convince the guard that
Estelle really was his granddaughter, but to no avail.
Today, many hade here to im connections; some using KING''s name, and others using Jason''s.
Hard to tell real and fake, the guard didn''t believe any and denied them all to enter unless they had
prior appointments.
As the arguing continued, a blue Bentley Mulsanne drove up, and the guard, recognizing the car,
promptly opened the gate to let it in.
The onlookers murmured among themselves,
"Whose car is that?"
"The license te seems to be from the Lamont family!"
"No wonder then. In J City, there''re only a few families who could just breeze in without notice."
"Old Mr. Quintin has always been aloof. Wealth and power don''t necessarily earn his audience,
especially when Old Mr. Jarvis is here."
The crowd watched the car disappear into the estate and spected wildly.
Through the rear-view mirror, Jonathan glimpsed those barred from entry andmented dryly, "No
wonder Grandpa rarely leaves C City."
Indeed, it was a hassle!
Estelle replied, "The folks in C City are well aware of Grandpa''s temperament; they wouldn''t bother him
needlessly. But when he''s out, it''s inevitable."
The car pulled up outside the grand old house, and immediately a servant came to open the doors,
ushering them inside.
Estelle inquired, "Has Ms. Sampson arrived?"
The servant respectfully answered, "She arrived half an hour ago, apanied by Mr. Langston."
Estelle smirked at Jonathan, "No wonder Grandpa didn''t rush me. With Magdalen there, he''s got
nothing to worry about!"
Jonathan, holding her hand, walked inside, "Grandpa knows you love your beauty sleep; he wouldn''t
dare rush you."
Estelle''s lips twitched slightly, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.
Jonathan suddenly paused and looked back at her, "I forgot to tell you, Mom and Dad are here too!"
