    Charlie looked up at Kya, his eyes shifting from shock to surprise. Seeing her clear, bright eyes, he felt


    as if a light was shining into his life, dispelling all the gloom and darkness within him.


    His heart raced as he rasped, "Noreen, can you step out for a moment?"


    “What?” Noreen looked at Charlie, puzzled.


    “Please step out." Charlie''s voice was barely a whisper, but it was stillpelling.


    Noreen hesitated, then nodded reluctantly, "Alright, I''ll wait outside."


    Once she left, only Charlie and Kya remained in the room.


    Charlie stood up and crouched down in front of Kya. He gently stroked her soft cheek, his eyes filled


    with unshed tears.


    Ever since Charlie entered the room, Kya hadn''t been scared. She looked at Charlie, her eyebrows


    slightly furrowed, "Uncle?"


    "I''m your dad.” Charlie''s voice choked as he held her little face in his hand, "I''m your dad!"


    Kya blinked, looking at him with a confused expression.


    "Honey, you''re my daughter.” Charlie''s voice trembled with emotion, his heart filled with a tumultuous


    mix of feelings.


    He pulled Kya into his arms, holding her tiny, soft body tightly. The emptiness he had felt for so long


    was finally filled.


    Kya leaned against Charlie''s shoulder, gently patting it. In her innocent voice, she asked, "Uncle


    Charlie, did you miss me? I missed you too. Why didn''t youe see me? Did you have a fight with


    Mom?"


    Charlie''s throat tightened, and he had to swallow hard before he could speak. "We will never be


    separated again"


    Kya''s eyes lit up, and she broke into a childish smile.


    Charlie picked up Kya and dialed Emily''s number on his phone.


    After one ring, Emily answered. “Charlie."


    Charlie was startled hearing Emily was about to cry.


    He quickly recovered, his voice stern. ‘Don''t cry. Kya is with me. She''s safe. Come here."


    Emily''s breath hitched. "Kya is with you?"


    “Yes, we''re at 9th Mansion. Come now."


    "I''m on my way.’ Emily hung up the phone.


    Emily had already called the police. Knowing that Kya was with Charlie, she hurriedly called the police


    station again while on the road, not bothering to exin much as she rushed towards 9th Mansion.


    After getting out of the cab, she ran towards the mansion, when suddenly a car sped towards her.


    With a screech, the car stopped just in front of Emily.


    The driver stuck his head out of the window, looking shocked. "Are you okay?"


    Emily nodded, dazed, and continued running towards 9th Mansion.


    She''d been to 9th Mansion many times, so she quickly made her way to the third floor and pushed


    open the door to their room without knocking.


    Upon entering the room and seeing Kya in Charlie''s arms and Noreen sitting across from him, Emily


    froze.


    All her panic and fear were frozen in that moment, leaving her mind nk.


    "Mom!"


    Kya was the only rxed one in the room, happily leaning against Charlie while eating a piece of cake


    and cheerfully calling Emily over.
