    Noreen clutched her cellphone, her heart pounding in her chest!

    She left the small apartment with Kya, not retrieving the item from the safe deposit box herself, but


    hiring someone else to do it instead.


    She was afraid that Jonathan might have nted someone at the bank.


    Fortunately, everything went smoothly and she got what Jonathan had left for her. After reading it,


    everything suddenly made sense!


    Emily had been distracted since she arrived at her office in the morning. She would find herself


    daydreaming while looking at the design drafts, and realized she had forgotten a sketch at home from


    the night before.


    Taking advantage of her lunch break, she returned home to get the sketch.


    Upon arriving home, there was no one there. Ms. Simmons and Kya were both gone.


    Emily assumed that Ms. Simmons had taken Kya to the grocery store and called her, "Ms. Simmons,


    where are you?"


    "Emily!" Ms. Simmonsughed, “Nothing''s up. I just headed home."


    Emily paused, "Where''s Kya?"


    "Kya was picked up by her grandma, didn''t you know?"


    Emily got stunned, “When was she picked up?"


    “Around ten in the morning!" Ms. Simmons replied.


    Emily''s face changed. She hung up the phone and quickly left the house, calling Gina as she did.


    Gina didn''t answer.


    Emily took a cab directly to the Elliott''s. She knocked on their door for quite some time before Gina


    finally came to open it. Seeing Emily, a look of guilt shed across her face before she tried to make


    casual conversation, “Emily, what brings you here? It''s not the weekend. Aren''t you supposed to be at


    work?"


    "Ms. Simmons said you took Kya. Why did you bring her here? Where''s Kya?” Emily pushed the door


    open and walked in.


    "Emily, Gina followed her, "Bonnie is sleeping. Let''s not wake her. Whatever it is, we can talk it out


    calmly!"


    Emily searched the living room and the bedroom but didn''t find Kya.


    “Where''s Kya?” Emily was starting to panic, "I have nothing to say to you. Where did you take my


    daughter?"


    Gina quickly made up a lie, “Well, I just missed Kya and wanted to spend some time with her. Your


    cousin just came back from abroad and she wanted to see Kya. She liked her so much that she took


    her out to y!"


    Emily furrowed her brows, "What cousin?"


    "It''s Noreen"


    Emily''s face turned pale, "Noreen? She''s back? Where did she take Kya?"


    Gina stuttered, unable to exin properly.


    Emily was in a state of panic. She quickly took out her phone to call Noreen. The first call went through


    but was quickly hung up. The second time, it was rejected.


    “Answer the phone!” Emily''s hand was trembling as she held the phone, her eyes filled with fear.


    Noreen must havee back for money. Why did she take Kya?


    Noreen didn''t answer the phone. Emily sent her a message with shaking hands.
