Chapter 1749
"Let''s cross that bridge when wee to it. No worries!" Bard reassured.
Emily felt even guiltier seeing how understanding thepany''s manager was, "I work during the day,
but I coulde by at night to care for my dad"
"I heard you have a daughter, just take good care of her. We''ve hired a full-time nursing worker, so you
won''t have to worry about a thing. Shawn got injured on ourpany''s watch, and we''ll take
responsibility!"
Their gracious attitude left Emily affected.
A spark of intrigue lit up in Magdalen''s eyes as she shared a meaningful nce with Estelle.
It was getting dark. Since the nursing worker was there to attend to Shawn, Estelle offered to drive
Emily home.
It was already dark when they left the hospital. Estelle fetched her car and they left.
Moments after Estelle''s car pulled away, a Rolls-Royce parked across the street also started to move.
While Estelle drove, Magdalen sat with Emily in the back, holding her hand, ‘Don''t worry. These guys
seem reasonable. Whatever we need topensate, we will. With E and me around, there won''t be
any problem!"
Emily leaned against Magdalen''s shoulder, closing her eyes, "Magdalen, I wouldn''t have made it
through today without you and Estelle."
Magdalen patted her head, "You were quite the lioness when you confronted your mother. So brave!"
Emily''s eyes filled with sarcasm, "Is this your first time seeing a family fight to this extent over money?"
Magdalen raised an eyebrow, “Even the wealthy can scheme against each other for gain, even to the
point of fratricide. It''s human nature, Emily. You shouldn''t feel bad. You should feel lucky that despite
everything you''ve been through, you still have a pure heart."
Emily, who had been feeling miserable, was touched by Magdalen''sfort.
What she was most grateful for was meeting friends like Estelle and Magdalen.
On the way, Estelle received a call from Jonathan. She told him she was on the road and suggested he
have dinner by himself as she would be spending the night at Emily''s.
Jonathan, sensing something was wrong, asked, “What happened to Emily?"
"Let''s talk itter,” Estelle answered calmly.
Jonathan didn''t press further, just reminding Estelle to drive safely.
When they arrived home, it waspletely dark. Ms. Simmons had prepared dinner and had given
Kya a bath.
Estelle told Ms. Simmons to head home. Seeing Emily''s pale face, Ms. Simmons didn''t ask anything
more, only reminding them to eat before she grabbed her bag and left.
Magdalen hadn''t seen Kya in a while. The two of them hugged andughed, lightening the somber
mood in the room.
Emily didn''t have much of an appetite but forced herself to eat a few bites. Seeing that Kya was sleepy,
she took her to bed.
Once the master bedroom door closed, Magdalen sighed softly, “Anyone going through this would be

heartbroken. Our words wont help. We can only wait for Emily to heal in her own time- Estelle nodded,
"Emily is already very strong."
She was able to cut ties with the Macin family without hesitation because she wasn''t raised by them
and had no emotional attachment. But it was different for Emily!
Magdalen frowned, “Yeah, if my parents were like this, I''d go insane. I''d rather take a stick of dynamite
and go down with them!"
Estelle said, "I''ll go talk to the person in charge at OrbitaTech Ventures tomorrow. I''ll handle the
Don''t let Emily know-"
Magdalen chuckled, "I thought the same at first, but now I feel like we should stay out of it."
"Hmm?" Estelle looked at her, puzzled.
Magdalen lowered her voice, "Didn''t you find the people from OrbitaTech Ventures strange? Shawn
and his crew vited thepany rules by gambling, causing such a big loss. They should be furious,
but they''ve been quite kind and evenforting Emily."
Estelle raised an eyebrow, "So, what''s your point?"
