    Just as she was hesitating, her phone screen lit up with a call from an unfamiliar number.


    Caught off guard, Emily slowly picked up the phone, "Hello?"


    "Is this Emily?" It was a stranger''s voice, sounding slightly anxious.


    "Yes, it''s me. Who''s this?" Emily asked.


    “I''m a colleague of Shawn Sullivan. Something''s happened to him. He''s currently in the hospital. You


    need to get here ASAP!" The man''s voice was filled with urgency.

    "I''ll send you the address of the hospital. Please hurry! We''ll talk then’ the man replied.


    “Alright!” Hanging up the phone, Emily suppressed her panic and hastily strode out.


    She hailed a taxi to the Mercy Hospital. Her mind was in a daze throughout the ride, a chilling


    sensation enveloping her from head to toe. Upon arrival, she sprinted towards the emergency room.


    Shawn was still in there. Outside were a few senior members of thepany and Shawn''s colleagues.

    "Dad!" Emily rushed over, her voice exuding disquietude, "What happened to my dad?"


    Thepany’s leader, Bard, approached her, “You must be Emily?"

    Bard exined, "There was a fire in our warehouse. Your dad rushed in to put it out and got injured.


    He''s still receiving treatment."


    Emily''s face turned as white as a sheet; her legs gave way, almost causing her to fall. The people


    around her quickly helped her sit down.


    Bard had someone bring Emily a ss of water, “Just sit here and wait. Don''t worry. Whatever


    happened, thepany will take responsibility"


    Emily nodded absentmindedly, her gaze fixated on the glowing sign outside the emergency room, her


    heart pounding uncontrobly.


    “Do you have any other family members?" Bard asked.


    "Yes!" Emily''s voice was hoarse as she took out her phone to call her mom and her brother.


    After failing to reach Elliott, she called her mom.


    Gina was surprised but assured her she''d be there soon.


    While Emily was on the phone, Bard stepped aside and called Charlie, "Mr. James, something


    happened!"


    The James Group Charlie hung up the phone, his expression grim as he rose to leave.


    When walking downstairs, he''d calmed down a bit. He decided to call Estelle, "Estelle, something''s


    happened to Emily''s dad. Could you go to the hospital to keep herpany? I''m worried she''ll be


    overwhelmed on her own."


    Estelle was on set at the time. Magdalen hade to visit and brought a bunch of snacks. They were


    all chatting together.


    Upon receiving Charlie''s call, Estelle immediately stood up and said to Magdalen, "Magdalen, there
