    Chapter 1708

Estelle settled into a chair, and Blythe immediately twisted open a bottle of water and handed it to her.

“Thanks! Estelle took a sip before saying, "What do you expect from Mr. Tucker? Stand up against the

    Crawleys

to defend me? What if he can''t handle the fallout and the whole crew gets involved? He''s in a position

    of

authority. It''s right for him to think about the entire production crew. That''s why I never med him. I

was the one who suggested going back home for a few days.’

Blythe gave Estelle a thumbs-up, "Estelle, you''ve got my respect for that!"

Craig frowned, "I just find the whole situation infuriating!"

“What''s there to be upset about?” Blythe tossed the water bottle to Craig, "Even Antonia was sent

    packing back

to B City by Estelle. Do you realize what an aplishment this is? The whole crew feels victorious

    standing

    with Estelle, where''s the frustration? Besides;

Blythe lowered her voice and wore a mysterious expression, "The day when Estelle was cyberbullied,

    Mr. Tucker

seemed to have created several anonymous ounts to defend Estelle online. I saw it when I

    delivered

something to his office. He had written a lengthy text praising Estelle''s dedication andpetence. So,

deep down, Mr. Tucker is on Estelle''s side. He just doesn''t want to offend the Crawleys.”

Craig grunted in approval, “That''s more like it.”

“Look at you, no less petty than a big director!" Blythe taunted.

“Who are you talking about?" Craig retorted, “You didn''t seem to think I was petty when you were

    enjoying the

ice cream I bought yesterday. You spent over three dors on a single ice cream. That''s as much as I

    spend on

    a meal!"

"I just picked one at random. Who knew it would be so expensive?”

Sitting on the wicker chair, Estelle watched them bicker. During her absence, the two seemed to have

    gotten

significantly closer. Was this a friendship forged over shared meals?

A sudden thought of Gwen crossed her mind. Craig and Gwen used to tease each other like this, too.

    Who

would''ve thought their friendship would eventually be unrecognizable?

Estelle was lost in thought when her phone vibrated. It was a call from Mr. Tucker.

After finishing the call, she stood up, “You guys have worked hard while I was gone. I''ll treat you to

    lunch. But

first, Mr. Tucker wants to see me."

“Oh yeah!" Blythe was visibly excited at the mention of a free meal.

Craig looked serious, "No matter what Mr. Tucker says, stay firm. Let him know you''re not someone to

    be

    messed with!"

Blythe tugged his arm, "Why so serious? Peace brings prosperity!"

Craig shot her a nce and chose not to engage.

“Don''t worry!" Estelle smiled, walking towards Mr. Tucker''s office.

When Estelle arrived, Mr. Tucker was busy, but he immediately put his work aside and greeted her

    warmly,

“Estelle, take a seat. Let me get you some water!”

“No need to trouble yourself.” Estelle gave a smile and sat on the couch.

Mr. Tucker ced the water in front of Estelle, his demeanor even warmer than before, "Estelle, to be

    honest, I

wasn''t fair to you before. You''re part of my crew and I didn''t fully defend you. I feel guilty about that.

    When I

called you today, I thought you mightsh out at me, and I was ready to take it. But you didn''t say

anything and agreed toe back to the set right away. That made me feel even worse.”

Estelle was surprised by his candidness. She replied with a soft smile, “It''s not as serious as you make

    it out to

be, Mr. Tucker. I know you were thinking about the crew. I understand."

Mr. Tucker''s face turned somber. He nodded repeatedly, "Estelle, let''s not dwell on this anymore. I can''t

promise much, but in this industry, your problems are my problems. I genuinely mean that. We''ve got a

long road of coboration ahead of us. You''ll see."

Estelle smiled, “I hope we continue to have a great working rtionship!"

“Absolutely!” Mr. Tucker assured her with a warm gaze and a firm nod.

They then discussed some work-rted matters. When she left Mr. Tucker''s office, it was almost noon.

Estelle suddenly remembered that she had promised Jonathan to have lunch with him that day.

She dialed Jonathan''s number and told him that she was back on set and wouldn''t be able to join him

    for lunch.

Jonathan''s voice dropped, "Are you back on set?"
