Chapter 1621
Emily’s heart skipped a beat, and she looked at Gavin with a surprised nce.
As the elevator reached the neenth floor, Gavin stepped out first. Emily’s heart was racing; she took
a moment to steady herself before following him. Upon reaching the conference room, representatives
frompanies under the Iriver Group were arguing with Gavin’s assistant, asking why they had been
kept waiting for so long with no one to exin the situation.

The room fell silent when they saw Gavin and Emily entered together. Then, they pressed forward,
bombarding Gavin with questions.
“Mr. Gavin, have you investigated what Ms. Sullivan has done?”
“How can a massivepany like James employ such a money-grubbing viin, especially one so
close to Mr. James? It’s ridiculous!”
“How does Mr. James respond to this situation? Will it affect the uing bidding process?”
The room was filled with chatter, and all the eyes were on Emily, filled with disgust and hatred.
Gavin shielded Emily behind and said calmly. “Everyone, please remain calm. We don’t have concrete
evidence to prove that Ms. Sullivan leaked the bidding details to Horizon Enterprises. We need time to
investigate this. And please refrain from verbally attacking Ms. Sullivan. She is our employee and we
will do our best to protect her safety and reputation until we ascertain the truth. If any of you try to insult
Ms. Sullivan, we will take legal action and send legal notices to yourpanies”
Gavin paused for a while and then added, “This is also Mr. James’ instruction.”
His words silenced the crowd.
Suddenly, the Deputy President of Starlight Corporation scoffed, “With so much evidence, Mr. Gavin
still insists there’s no insufficient proof. What exactly would constitute sufficient evidence? Are you
trying to protect Emily? What is the rtionship between Ms. Sullivan and Mr. Gavin?”
Gavin’s expression hardened. “I don’t need to exin that to Mr. Larry. If you don’t believe me, you’re
free to leave now. Even if we give this project to Horizon Enterprises, you have no right to question
us.”
Mr. Larry had an unpleasant look on his face, but he didn’t leave or say anything further.
Emily spoke calmly, “This is a deliberate attempt to frame me. The content in those photos has been
taken out of context!”
Mr. Matz from the Iriver Group asked, “What about the three hundred thousand transaction from
Horizon Enterprises? Is that also a deliberate attempt to frame you?”
“Yes!” Emily responded firmly, “I do have a personal rtionship with Mr. Walton from Horizon
Enterprises, but it has nothing to do with our business. As for the three hundred thousand dors, I only
served as an intermediary to transfer it to someone else.”
“Do you have any evidence to prove it?” someone else shouted.
Emily unlocked her phone and found a call recording. She said “Mr. Walton asked me to transfer the
three hundred thousand dors to a friend. I was afraid of any potential misunderstandings, so I
recorded the conversation. Please feel free to listen.”
Emily yed the call recording, which clearly captured the conversation between Betty and her. In the
conversation, Emily stated that the three hundred thousand dors were intended for Betty on behalf of
Wilson, and Betty epted it.
After the recording, Emily showed her transfer records to them.
The crowd exchanged nces, unsure of what to say.
Mr. Larry sneered, “It’s possible that you’re being cautious. You recorded this in advance, and
intentionally transferring that sum of money for the sake of showing us today!”
Emily responded calmly, “If I were pursuing personal gain at the expense of thepany’s interests,
thepany wouldn’t allow it either! I will request thepany to audit and monitor my ount’s
transaction records. Would that put your minds at ease?”
The room fell silent. Mr. Larry continued, “Ms. Sullivan was able to exin the transaction record, but
how do you justify your family members receiving expensive gifts?”
Emily spoke with a determined tone, I’ll also investigate that.”
