    “Well, ain’t this a coincidence! You’re here too?” Gavin asked, chuckling.


    “I’m here for a ss reunion!” Emily replied with a pleasant smile.


    “Mr. James is here too, why not pop over and say hi?’ Gavin suggested.


    Emily bit her lip, and the smile faded a bit on her face, “Nah, I wouldn’t wanna bother Mr. James.”


    “He doesn’t mind at all. He was just talking about you!” Gavin grabbed her arm without waiting for a


    response and headed towards a private room, “Something about some tech issues with your partner


    Emily frowned. She was nning to discuss this with Charlie the next morning, but it seemed he


    already knew


    Without a word, she followed Gavin to meet Charlie.


    As she pushed open the door to the private room, Charlie was the only one inside. There were bottles


    of booze before him, and a cigarette was hanging off his lips.


    “Mr. James, guess who I brought!” Gavin joked..


    Charlie looked up and was momentarily surprised to see Emily.

    Charlie didn’t respond, simply put out his cigarette in the ashtray.

    “What are you standing around for? Come over here!” Charlie called out.


    The dim lighting in the room cast dark shadows on his handsome face.


    Emily approached. Stopping a meter away from him, she said casually, “I noticed some issues with


    TechNova’s tech data when I was off work. I was nning to tell you tomorrow morning, but I can pull


    up the data now if you need it.”


    As she spoke, she was about to log into her email on her phone.


    “No rush!” Charlie responded casually


    Emily bit her lip. She had been tricked by Gavin. Charlie hadn’t wanted to discuss TechNova, and


    probably hadn’t even mentioned her.


    “If there’s nothing else, I won’t intrude any longer, Mr. James,” Emily murmured,


    Charlie stared at Emily with a cold smile, “Where are you off to? Keeping Wilsonpany?”


    He stood and approached Emily, his towering figure looming over her, an intimidating presence, “You’re


    my personal assistant, and now you’re moonlighting as a PR ck, entertaining clients. Should I double


    your sry?”


    Emily paled instantly and replied, “Wilson and I are ssmates. We’re just having a reunion. Work


    wasn’t involved.”


    “Didn’t I tell you to keep your distance from him outside of work?” Charlie’s tone was calm but his aura


    icy.


    Emily involuntarily stepped back, “This is off-hours. You have no right to dictate who I interact with!”


    “No right, huh?” Charlie reached out to caress Emily’s cheek, his fingers cold as ice, “Is that why you


    wanted to break up? Because you found Wilson? Is he superior to me?”


    Emily didn’t exin, she let him specte


    “Speak up” Charlie’s fingers pressed against her lips, his eyes cold, “In what way is he better than me?


    He gives you a bouquet of flowers and you’re all

    Emily’s face was ghostly white She turned her head, trying to escape his touch.


    Seeing her reaction, Charlie felt a surge of anger He reached up to grasp her face again, “Take off your


    clothes. I need you now!”
