    “Just open the door and see!” Estelle went over, opened the door, and smiled at Charlie standing


    outside, “How did you get here so fast?”


    Charlie was in a te blue shirt, holding some gifts and wine, and he smiled elegantly, “I happened to


    be in the area, so I thought I’d drop by. Is Jonathan around?”


    “He’s inside!”


    Charlie changed his shoes and headed inside, shouting out, “Kya!”


    Kya already ran over, her eyes smiling like crescent moons, “Charlie!”


    Emily took the gifts from Charlie, looking a bit tense, she smiled and said, “It’s enough that you came,


    you didn’t have to bring gifts.”


    Charlie hugged Kya, whispering, “These were given to me, I don’t need them.”


    Emily set the gifts aside, “Make yourself at home, I’m off to cook.”


    Jonathan stood up and suggested, “How about Charlie and I take care of the cooking today, and you


    two keep Kyapany.”


    Emily immediately said, “That’s not necessary, I can whip up something in no time.”


    “I think that’s a great idea!” Estelle pulled Emily back to the living room and told Charlie, “Thanks for


    your help, Charlie.”


    Charlie smiled, “No problem, it’s my pleasure.”


    Kya wanted to be with Charlie, she said with childish seriousness, “I’ll help you prepare the veggies!”

    “Alright!” Charlieughed and walked into the kitchen with Kya in his arms.


    After a while, Jonathan and Charlie, two men who rarely cook, stood in the kitchen, staring at a pile of


    ingredients, clueless about where to start.


    The kitchen was already small, and with their tall frames, it felt even more cramped.


    Charlie chuckled, “You really are willing to try anything to win Estelle over, aren’t you?”


    Jonathan nced at him and raised an eyebrow, “Trust me, I’m not doing this for my own sake.”


    Charlie seemed a bit smug, “I wouldn’t be as pathetic as you, even if I liked Emily Sullivan, I wouldn’t


    try to please her.”


    Jonathan didn’t care, and a knowing smile crept up on his face, “You better remember what you said


    today.”


    “Have you ever seen me trying to please a woman?” Charlie shook his head and, looking at the


    seafood in the sink and various vegetables on the chopping board, asked, “So, what should we do


    now?”


    Jonathan had taken cooking lessons for Estelle a couple of years ago and hadn’t entirely forgotten. He


    calmly said, “I’ll be the chef, you’re the sous chef I’ve ordered some dishes, they should be delivered


    soon.”


    Charlie joked, “All Estelle’s favorites, right?”


    Jonathan replied nonchntly, “And one dish that Kya likes.”


    “Deal!” Charlie agreed happily, no longer having any objections.


    When Estelle came over, she opened the door to find Charlie washing tomatoes and Jonathan


    prepping shrimp. The kitchen was in perfect order, much better than she had expected.


    Jonathan’ nced at her and said softly, “Don’t rush, if you’re hungry, have some cake. Dinner will be


    ready soon.”

    “Don’t worry, I’ve already taken Kya away,” Estelle said with a smile, took Kya with her, and closed the


    door for them.


    Charlie was leisurely washing the tomatoes,ughing, “Tell me, how did you two make up? You were


    so concerned about Estelle still having Manley in her heart, why doesn’t it bother you now?”


    Jonathan’s tone was calm, “I guess I’ve realized something.”
