Simone, while feeding Carme’s cat some cantaloupe, scoffed, “Those minor celebrities are no good,
yet Estelle insisted on hanging out with them and brought trouble upon herself. Isn’t this what she
asked for?”
Bet sighed, “I hope Estelle can pull herself together, stop making mom and dad angry, so we can
hold our heads high at home.”
Simone said, “She hasn’t considered me her mother for a long time. Whether she’s good or bad has
