Chapter 789
“She didn’t say much.” Josiah said, looking a bit bummed, and then headed upstairs.
In the afternoon, Estelle was chatting with Old Wade.
All the other servants had gone home for the holidays, leaving only a cook, a security guard/driver, and
Old Wade.
Old Wade had never married in his life and was basically part of the Jarvis family. Naturally, he wouldn’t
leave the Jarvis family during the holidays.
Estelle realized her phone was in her room. Upon returning, she discovered a series of texts and three
missed calls from Jonathan.
Just as she was about to text Jonathan back, he called again.
As soon as she picked up, she heard his anxious voice, “Where’ve you been? Why didn’t you pick up?”
Estelle exined with augh, “I didn’t have my phone with me.”
Jonathan breathed a sigh of relief, “Keep your phone with you these days, don’t make me worry.”
Estelle obediently agreed, “Alright, got it.”
Blue flew over andnded on her shoulder, shouting at the phone, “E! E!”
Jonathan immediately asked, “What’s that noise?”
Estelle covered the phone and red at Blue, “Shut up!”
Blue tilted its head, its little eyes darting around.
“E?” Jonathan asked on the phone.
Estelle awkwardlyughed, “It’s the neighbor’s kid yelling for me!
“That kid’s got quite the voice,” Jonathan joked.
Estelle,’
She shooed Blue away and said softly, “Gotta go, I’m gonna help Grandpa with dinner. And stop texting
me so much.”
“I miss you,” his voice suddenly got low and husky.
Estelle looked down, “We’ll see each other in a few days!”
Jonathan closed his eyes for a moment and asked, “What are you doing after dinner?”
Estelle replied, “I’ll keep my grandpapany and chat. What about you?”
Jonathanughed, “I might y cards with my mom and the others.”
Estelle felt warm inside hearing his slightly proud tone, “Alright, let’s chatter tonight. Gotta go now!”
“Go on, but send me a pic of the food you made,” Jonathan teased, “I wanna see if it’s edible.”
“You’re not even eating it!” Estelle muttered under her breath, quickly adding, “Bye!”

She hung up the phone, put it on her, and walked out of the room to the front yard.
As evening approached, the cook had prepared the majority of the meal, prompting Estelle to capture
photographs of the dishes to share with Jonathan.
Jonathan quickly replied, “Did you make this?”
“Yes.”
The cook had prepared the ingredients, and she had put them on the te and into the steamer, so of
course, it counted as her cooking.
“Looks tender and juicy, I really want to try it.”
Estelle looked at the message from her man, feeling as if he was whispering in her ear. She couldn’t
help but blush, “I’m gonna eat now, no more chatting.”
“Chat with me a little longer.”
Estelle didn’t respond to him.
