“Huh?” Estelle nced back while sipping hertte.
“I’ve got an idea. Since you won’t let me pick you up and drop you off, let me buy you a car instead, so
you don’t have to take the subway every day. Besides, you know how to drive.”
Estelle thought about it for a moment, and said, “Nah, it’s not that far. Driving could be even more
troublesome if there’s a traffic jam.”
Jonathan gave her a look, “Is it because I’m the one giving it that you don’t want it?”
“No!” Estelle immediately replied.
“E, I’m your boyfriend, it’s perfectly normal for me to give you stuff. Jonathan said gently.
He could tell that Estelle seemed quite afraid of owing others.
Estelle spoke softly. “I know, I’ll let you know if I need anything.”
Jonathan smirked and didn’t say anything.
The rain was getting heavier, and the traffic was quickly snarling up. By the time they got back to the
Royal Mansion, it was almost six o’clock.
Estelle got out of the car and saw a red Porsche parked in a nearby space. Jonathan walked over,
ced his hand on the car, opened the door, and gestured invitingly to Estelle. “Ms. Macin, please,
take it for a test drive.”
Estelle’s eyes widened, “You bought it? Why didn’t you discuss it with me?”
“Haven’t we already talked about it on the road?” Jonathan smiled, and he took Estelle’s hand to help
her into the car. “Do you like it? If not, we can get something else.”
Sitting in the car, Estelle looked at Jonathan with a helpless smile, “Mr. Lamont, I’m just a little
assistant!”
Driving such an expensive car would definitely attract attention.
“You may be a little assistant, but you’re also my girlfriend,” said Jonathan. “I can’t stand the thought of
you taking the subway every day.”
Estelle’s eyes sparkled as she stepped out of the car and embraced the man. “Thank you!”
“Hey, you lovebirds, save the hugging for home, okay? We don’t want any unexpected photos here!”
Charlie’s yful voice called out from a short distance away. Estelle quickly pulled away from
Jonathan’s arms and turned to see Charlie.

Charlie held two shopping bags in his hands, while Emily stood behind him, wearing a wide grin
directed at Estelle.
Estelle blushed slightly, and Jonathan, with aposed expression, held her hand and whispered,
“You can close your eyes and pretend you didn’t see anything.”
Charlie nodded seriously, “I’ll try that next time!”
The group exchanged a few pleasantries before walking towards the elevator together.
Charlie handed a bag to Jonathan, “These are all the dishes Estelle likes, you take it.”
Jonathan took the bag and smiled at Emily, “Thank you!”
Emily waved her hands, “It’s Charlie’s money, thank him!”
Jonathan chuckled, “I’m afraid I might shorten his life by thanking him!
Charlie frowned, “Hey, we agreed not to be born on the day, but we can die on the same day, you
couldn’t curse yourself like that!”
Jonathan gave him a nce, “Dream on! Who’s gonna die the sameday as you? You’re so much older
than me!”
“It’s just two months more!” Charlie eximed in astonishment.
Estelle and Emily listened to the two teasing each other, exchanged a smile, and couldn’t help but burst
intoughter.
They all went to Charlie’s house, and Emily took the shopping bags with a smile, “You guys wait in the
living room, and I’ll call you when the food is ready.”
Estelle followed her into the kitchen, “I’ll help!”
Jonathan, however, held Estelle’s hand and called for Charlie. “Come over and prepare the
ingredients!”
Emily hurriedly said, “No need, I can do it myself!”
“He’s not tired!” Jonathan finished, dragging Charlie into the kitchen.
Charlie entered the kitchen with a baffled look on his face, not knowing what to do. Jonathan
immediately tossed him a head of garlic. “Peel this.”
Charlie caught the garlic andughed at Jonathan. “Looks like you’ve been bossed around a lot by
Estelle!”
