Chapter 339
A few dayster, when Jonathan was passing by the second floor on his way home in the evening.
on the balcony talking on the phone, ‘Have you been in touch with Etely?”
he heard Jan
‘Don’t use being busy as an excuse!”
“Since you also like her, you better hurry up. If you don’t take it seriously, someone else might sweep
her off her feet!”
After Janice hung up the phone, she turned around and saw Jonathaning up from the stairs. She
smiled warmly at him, “Mom just asked if you were home yet.”
Jonathan’s eyes were deep as he smirked, “you don’t seem to be busy these days, focusing on being a
matchmaker?”
Janiceughed helplessly, “Mom saw Estelle the other day and was very impressed with her. She said
sensible youngdies like her are rare these days and she’s been urging me to call Matthew to make
him put some effort into pursuing her. Matthew lost his mom when he was young, so as his aunt, I have
to look out for him more.”
Jonathan nodded slightly without saying anything, and headed to the third floor.
After taking a shower, he sat on the balcony smoking. The vi area was unlike the city, where it was
still bustling at night. At this time, it waspletely quiet.
The moonlight was hazy, and the evening breeze was cool.
He hadn’t seen Estelle for a while, and his life and work gradually returned to normal. He asionally
had urges at night but taking a shower would calm him down.
His sleep, however, worsened. He used to have trouble falling asleep, but now he suffered from
insomnia.
Insomnia wasn’t that scary and it wouldn’t make him feel unbearable, nor would it affect his work during
the daytime. Some people were said to be born not needing much sleep, maybe he was just one of
them.
At noon that day, Estelle received a call from Matthew, asking if she was avable that evening to go
see a movie together.
Estelle declined politely, “Sorry, I have to work tonight.”
Matthew was surprised, “You still have to work at night? What do you
do?”
Estelle replied, “I’m a waitress at Midnight Bar.”
Matthew suddenly went quiet, apparently not expecting Estelle to work at Midnight Bar.
“I’m about to arrive, so if there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now!” Estelle said.
“Oh!” Matthew hesitated for a moment and hurriedly responded.
Estelle hung up the phone and headed to the side door of Midnight Bar.
At nine o’clock, after delivering drinks to the guests in room 6616, Estelle received another call from
Matthew.
15:09
His voice was gentle, “I’m outside Midnight Bar and I don’t know where you are. Can youe out for
a moment?”
Estelle was surprised, “You came to Midnight Bar?”
“Yes, just outside the entrance.” Matthewughed.
Estelle frowned slightly and, after notifying Addison, went out to find Matthew.
Matthew was wearing a light grey tracksuit and holding a box of cake. He ran towards Estelle,
‘Estelle!”
Estelle walked towards him slowly, “You came all this way just to see me?”
Matthewughed openly, “I had no choice. My grandma insisted Ie. She heard from my aunt that
you love sweets, so she had the kitchen make a cake especially for you and demanded I deliver it. I’ve
never been here before, so I had no choice but to ask you toe out and get it.”
Estelle smiled warmly, “Thank you, but I don’t know your grandmother, and I can’t ept the cake.”
Matthew looked at her with a hint of pity, “Please, just do it as a favor for me. If you don’t ept it, my
grandma will scold me when I go back!”

Estelle’s eyes were clear as she said softly, “Matthew, it’s impossible for us to be a couple. I think
you should exin the situation to your elders as soon as possible, so they don’t waste their feelings
and you don’t waste your time either.”
