While there was a hugemotion going on outside, Norah, the star of the show, had no idea what wa
s happening. She had no clue that her uncle was standing up for her, and she didn’t know that the Burk
e family was about to go bankrupt!
She was in a bad mood and did not want to go out, so she invited Estelle toe over to her house.

e saw her, “E!”
“Hi, Granny!” Estelle replied with a warm smile.
“Come over here!” Mrs. Lamont happily patted the spot next to her for Estelle to sit down and asked, “H
ow have you beentely?”
Estelle nodded obediently, “Not bad!”
Mrs. Lamont said kindly, “I heard from Norah that you’ve been working all summer to earn
tuition fees. You’re such a good girl! Come over more often when you’re free!”
“Sure, thanks, Granny!”
Mrs.
Lamont asked, “You’re here for Norah, right? What’s been going on with her? She’s been so downtel
y. Her mom is on a business trip, and she won’t tell me anything.”
Estelle sweetly replied, “I’m not sure, either. I’ll try to ask herter.”
“Alright!”
As they talked, Norah came running down the stairs, “Estelle!”
Estelle stood up, “Norah.”
Feeling guilty, Norah nced at her grandmom and took Estelle by the arm, leading her upstairs, “Let’s
go talk upstairs!”
Estelle said goodbye to Mrs. Lamont, who
smiled and said, “Go ahead, I’ll have Addy bring you some snackster.”
Back in Norah’s room and with the door closed, she immediately asked Estelle, “You didn’t tell my gran
ny about Nics, did you?”
“No,” Estelle replies.
“Phew!” Norah patted her chest in relief, then she took Estelle’s hand and sat down on the sofa. “I can’t
let them know. It’s too embarrassing!”
Estelleughed lightly, “It’s not that
embarrassing. You didn’t know what kind of person Nics was. You were deceived!”
“Still, it’s embarrassing. Especially since my uncle and Henson
both know about my rtionship. If they knew how we ended things, they’d definitely make fun of me!”
Estelle’s expression was a bitplicated as she thought to herself that both of those people already k
new.
She asked, “Do you still have feelings for Nics?”
Norah hugged a cushion, revealing a bitter smile, “I did love him, how could I just forget? But I don’t fee
l as terrible as before. I just think I was stupid and ridiculous!”
Estelle thought about her words and slowly said, “Actually, you don’t need to me yourself. I think
when you were together, he really liked you. It’s just thatter, when Nics left school and started to w
ork, his mentality changed somehow.”
Norah snorted, “You’re right. He might not have known how vain he was before! He’s been calling me t
hese past few days, telling me how miserable he’s been since our breakup. He said he quit his job
and left the Burke family because he realized that he loves me and that I’m more important than anythi
ng else!”

Angrily, Norah added, “But I don’t feel touched at all when I hear this. I just want to puke! I can imagine
that if we got back together, when his work isn’t going well, he’d me
me for holding him back. He’d be better off with Leah. They deserve each other!”
Estelle was shocked to hear that, the Burke family’s business was about to crumble, and that Nics w
as so shameless as to try to deceive Norah, saying he quit his job for her.
How could there be such shameless people?

Estelle’s eyes were cold as she said, “No matter what he says, just ignore him!”
Norah furiously pounded the cushion, “But it still pisses me off that I’m just letting those two awful peop
le get away with it. Am I too easy to bully?”
Estelle raised an eyebrow, her eyes were cold, “Then show him that you’re not easy to bully!”
“Huh?” Norah looked puzzledly at Estelle.
Estelle asked, “What did Nics give up on you for?”
Norah frowned, “Money!”
