Chapter 2068

Rosalind could tell Joshua was still uneasy, probably because she had brought up Harper''s passing. Harper was the apple of Joshua''s eye, his pride and joy for so many years. She was an exceptional daughter, deeply in love with Lysander. She was supposed to marry Lysander, Joshua''s favorite, the man he had handpicked to inherit his business empire. Joshua had dreamed of retiring early, leaving his legacy in the capable hands of Lysander and Harper. But Harper''s untimely death shattered that dream, leaving a void in Joshua''s heart.
"I understand. I''ll be more careful in the future," Rosalind said, her voice level as she prepared to leave. Then, something urred to her, and she paused. "Are you really nning to have lunch with Lysander and Thssater today?"
"Of course," Joshua replied.
"Send me the location. I''ll join you," Rosalind stated firmly.
"You''reing too?" Joshua asked, surprised. Before Rosalind could respond, he sighed, "Alright, I''ll text you the address once Lysander sends it to me."
Deep down, Rosalind hadn''t let go of Lysander. Perhaps seeing him with Thssa, happy and in love, would help her move on.
Thssa overslept, waking up at four in the afternoon. She quickly got out of bed, showered, did her makeup, and picked out a chic outfit. She was going to the movies with Lysander and wanted to look her best to lift her spirits.
By the time she was ready, it was half-past five. She was about to text Lysander when she heard a car pulling into the driveway. It was Lysander!
Eager and excited like a girl newly in love, Thssa grabbed her phone and rushed downstairs to greet him. She reached the yard, saw the sleek ck car''s door open, and with a bright smile, called out, "Lysander!"
But the person who stepped out wasn''t Lysander; it was his assistant, David. Her greeting hung unfinished in the air. Peering into the car, hoping to see Lysander, she found it empty. Her heart sank a little as she nervously asked, "Where''s Mr. Sinir?"
Seeing the visible disappointment on Thssa''s face, David quickly exined, "Mrs. Sinir, Mr. Sinir had to head to the restaurant and sent me to pick you up."
David''s sudden use of "Mrs. Sinir" took Thssa by surprise. She was ustomed to being called Ms. Everhart, and this new title felt both ttering and awkward.
"Going out for dinner?" she managed to ask.
"Yes," David confirmed.
Thssa couldn''t help butugh at David''s solemn demeanor. "Why so formal? Just because Lysander and I tied the knot doesn''t mean I''m not same Thssa. Lighten up a bit."

Knowing she was on her way to join Lysander for dinner made her cheerful again. Dinner before a movie-when had Lysander be such a romantic?
Herment made David sheepishly smile as he opened the car door for her, "Please, Mrs. Sinir, after you."
