Chapter 2040
?
"What can I say? You guys are married now. Just focus on making a great life together," Kimberly said, turning back to give her aposed look. Hertha asked, "Aren''t you curious about what''s been happening with us these past few days?"
"Ohe on, your marriage is your business. I wouldn''t dream of prying too much. As long as you''re happy, that''s what matters," Kimberly replied with an air of someone who''s been there and done that, a hint of sheepishness on her face.
Hertha was puzzled. She thought, "Mom is definitely overthinking this."
"I didn''t mean it that way. Remember, ric and I still had unresolved issues before we got our marriage license. Aren''t you curious about how things are now?"
Hertha set her things on the couch and walked over to her mother, a reminder in her steps.
She and ric had resolved their differences. She felt a weight lifted off her shoulders and wanted to share the good news with her mother, to make her happy too.
"Once you''ve decided on marriage, let bygones be bygones. What matters is building a good life together moving forward," Kimberly said, thinking Hertha was still hung up on ric''s past escapades.
Her words were meant asfort.
Hertha said, "Mom, you''re really the best. Starting to teach your daughter to be all muddled up, huh?"
"What else am I supposed to do, let your child''s father get away?" Kimberly shot back with a side nce.
Hertha chuckled, looping her arm through her mother''s, cooing like a little girl, "Not only will I not let my child''s dad get away, but I''m also going to live a happy and joyful life with him. You know why?"
"Isn''t that just how it should be?" Kimberly remarked.
Hertha corrected her, "It''s not just how it should be. It''s because ric and I have cleared up all our misunderstandings."
She continued, "Before we got our marriage license, we ran into Georgia. It turns out, three years ago, ric never had an affair with Georgia. It was a total misunderstanding. Georgia is still pure as the driven snow."
Kimberly, having been around the block, immediately understood what she meant.
Sheughed, augh that came from deep within, devoid of any reservations or bitterness, pletely rxed and carefree.
"Heh, really? That''s wonderful!" Kimberly beamed at Hertha.
"So, you mean to say, you and ric can really put all your past grievances behind and be together wholeheartedly?" Kimberly seemed even happier than Hertha.
Even before Hertha and ric''s marriage, she hade to ept whatever past ric had. As long as ric and Hertha could lead a good life together and provide aplete family for their children, that was enough. Content belongs to
To ept, but deep down, there would always be a hint of regret, as no woman can easily tolerate her husband having been involved with another
woman.
But Hertha had brought back good news. ric and that Georgia hadn''t had any real rtionship.
The only blemish in her heart was now healed.
It felt like a perfect life.
"Yes, Mom. Julian and Helena will have a father''s love from now on," Hertha said with a smile, gently shaking Kimberly''s arm.
"Hehe, alright, I''ll go make some lunch," Kimberly said, smiling ear to ear.
"Mom, I''ve already eaten. Just make something for yourself," Hertha said.
"Oh, you''ve eaten? Me and the kids had something a bit ago. Then, I''ll head back to my room for a nap," Kimberly said, smiling as she turned back to her room.
Seeing her mother so happy made Hertha''s heart swell with joy.
At three in the afternoon, Kimberly got up, walked into the living room,
and saw Hertha curled up of chal.

Kimberly was puzzled. The girl must be over the moon.
She walked over and gently tapped Hertha on the back, "Have you lost your marbles, staring and grinning at that marriage license for who knows how long?"
Hertha snapped back to reality, her smile seemingly welded to her face, radiating happiness.N?velDrama.Org copyrighted ? content.
