Chapter 1194
Thssa and Hertha were scared out of their wits, gasping for air as panic took hold. Hertha had
mmed on the brakes with all her might, her body rigid with tension.
The car continued to skid forward, on a collision course with disaster, but the woman standing defiantly
in front of them, arms wide, showed no intention of moving. Resigned, she closed her eyes and stood
her ground.
Miraculously, the car screeched to a halt mere inches from the woman. The abrupt stop sent Thssa
and Hertha lurching forward, nearlyunching them through the windshield if not for their seat belts
snapping them back into ce.
After a few shaky breaths, they settled back into their seats, hearts still racing.
Thssa, still reeling from the shock, peered ahead to see a middle-ageddy dressed to the nines,
exuding wealth and propriety. She certainly didn’t appear to be unhinged.
Yet, they had no idea who this woman was or why she would risk her life to stop their car.
As Thssa puzzled over the situation, the woman opened her eyes, visibly shaken by the proximity of
death. Without a moment''s hesitation, she strode to the passenger door and began pounding
frantically.

Thssa could see the urgency in the woman''s eyes as she knocked, so she rolled down the window.
With a voice thick with desperation, the woman said, “You must be Thssa; I''ve seen your picture. I
know my daughter has done wrong, but she''s so young, blinded by love for a man, which led her
astray. You''re safe now, and I beg you to forgive her, to drop this matter. Please, I''m begging you.”
Her plea was fervent, her emotions raw.
Thssa was taken aback. She wracked her brain to ce the woman, to recall if they had ever met.
But sifting through her memories, Thssa was certain this was their first encounter.
Despite meeting for the first time, Thssa deduced from the woman''s words that she must be
Debby''s mother.
Only Debby fit the description of someone who, out of excessive love, could err in such a way. And now
her mother was pleading for leniency.
Thssa recalled how Lysander had rescued her from the fire and had asked how she wanted to deal
with Debby. They hadn''t reached an agreement, and Thssa had since disengaged from the issue,
no longer concerned with Debby''s fate.
And now, suddenly, someone was begging for her forgiveness on Debby''s behalf?
Debby''s mother choked up as she spoke, pleading with Thssa, "You have children; you understand
the heartache and despair of being locked up for 20 years. I know she was wrong to treat you that way.
If you want to punish her, say five or six years, but with 20 years, by the time she gets out, it''ll be too
Debby''s mother was sincerely looking out for her daughter''s future.
