Chapter 990

    Chapter 990

Thssa’s gaze flitted nervously across the living room where, to her dismay, she noticed the

slipcovers on the sofa had been changed. Justst night, the couch was adorned with a deep gray

velvet cover, and today, it was d in dark gray leather.

    3 F

The new cover was undoubtedly due to the marks they had left behind on the couch the previous

    night.

As this thought dawned on her, Thssa’s eyes shot up, meeting Lysander’s gaze, which was as deep

and mysterious as a star-filled night sky.

Her already tense heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t decipher Lysander’s intentions, and the aura of

danger he exuded was intimidating. Feeling a chill run down her spine, she instinctively shrank back

    into the chair..

“I was here for work.” she added quickly.

Lysander’s prating stare never wavered, as if he was trying to see right through her.

His presence was overwhelming, like an icy dagger pressing against her skin, sharp enough to draw

    blood.

This is the property of N?-velDrama.Org.

Thssa’s skin prickled with a numbing pain as she withstood the immense pressure.

Just as she felt she was about to break, Lysander spoke up in a low voice, “Do you evere to me

    without an agenda?”

She never sought him out just for the sake of seeing him. Her yful behavior and the kisses she had

initiated in the past were all strategic moves to ensure her ess to Royal Estates and see the

    children whenever she wished.

He had once been foolishly content with her coquettish acts, like a lovesick teenager.

However, after being let down so many times, Lysander had learned to remainposed.

Having said his piece, Lysander picked up the mug in front of him, took a sip of his coffee, and stated,

“Tell the Crawley Group to prepare for the breach of contract penalty. We’ll settle this ording to the

    terms agreed upon.”

Thssa was taken aback. She hadn’t expected Lysander to discuss business matters so seriously,

and he had cut straight to the chase with a solution.

The Crawley Group could terminate the contract, but they would need topensate for the breach as

stipted. No additional responsibilities were to be imposed, which was, in a way, fair.

Regaining herposure, Thssa quickly replied, “Alright, I’ll inform Mr. Ethan as soon as I get

    back.”

Just as she was about to stand and leave, she remembered that her phone was still in Lysander’s

    possession.

Hesitating momentarily, she bit her lip before mustering the courage to sit back down- oveing not

only her fear of the office but also her apprehension about facing Lysander.

With an effortful smile, she said to Lysander, “Actually, there’s a personal matter I wanted to ask you

    about.”

Lysander paused with his coffee mug in hand, then ced it on the coffee table and looked up at

Thssa with those deep-set eyes, “What is it?”

“Did you manage to find my phone yesterday?” Thssa asked directly. There was no point in beating

around the bush with Lysander; being straightforward would save time and potentially avoid irritating

    him.

“What if I did?” Lysander asked, his voice deep and inscrutable.

His question only added to the pressure Thssa felt. The phone was hers, but since Lysander had

found it and hadn’t offered to return it, asking for it outright required facing the formidable aura of

    authority he radiated.

However, Thssa needed her phone; the contacts in it were invaluable to her.

“I’ve been without my phone all day, and even checking the time has been inconvenient. Could you

please return it to me?” she asked, mustering all her courage.

Lysander continued to gaze at her unblinkingly, silent.

Thssa, feeling increasingly uneasy and unable to decipher his thoughts, was relieved when

Lysander finally replied, “In the study at Royal Estates.”

“Okay, thank you. I appreciate your hospitality, but I must be going now,” Thssa said, rising hastily,

    eager to leave.

Staying in Lysander’s office, in his presence, for even a second longer felt perilous, like a vition of

    her safety.

Thssa left, and Lysander made no move to stop her. He simply poured himself another cup of

coffee, while the cup he had poured for Thssa sat untouched on the end table beside the single-

    seater couch.
