Chapter 987
“No way I’m risking my paycheck over a few extra minutes of sleep, Thssa quipped with a chuckle.
“Hey, how did the interview go yesterday?” Ethan strolled into the secretary’s office and plopped down
in an empty chair.
“Went off without a hitch,” Thssa replied.
But the trek back home was anything but smooth. A story she didn’t feel like sharing with Ethan.
“Well, that’s a relief. Oh, by the way, Richard called mest night, asking for your number. What does
he want with you?” Ethan had been half-asleep when Richard rang him up the previous evening, and it
struck him as odd this morning.
What business could Richard possibly have with Thssa? Everyone knew she was Lysander’sdy-
pursuing her would be out of the question.
“My phone was offst night. I missed his call,” Thssa exined, puzzled about why Richard would
want her number.
Did Richard return after dropping Charlotte home yesterday, intending to take her home? Maybe, not
finding her waiting for a ride, he asked Ethan for her number to check her whereabouts?
“Right, no biggie then,” Ethan dismissed it.
“Get your things in order. You’ve got to head over to the Sinir Group to wrap up the loose ends from
our previous coboration,” Ethan abruptly added.
Thssa’s curiosity piqued. “What coboration?”
“The contract we signed with the Sinir Group for outsourcing phone production. Although we’ve
discuss the matter of termination,” Ethan exined.
“This is major, Mr. Ethan. Shouldn’t you be handling it personally?” Thssa pressed, concerned.
Ethan suddenly grinned, a knowing look in his eyes. “Aren’t you my secretary? Handling negotiations is
part of your job. Besides, you’ve got a way with Lysander that I can’t match.”
“There’s nothing between me and Lysander,” Thssa said, her tone darkening as she corrected him.
Ethan kept ying that card, exploiting her supposed connection with Lysander for business leverage.
The man was cunning incarnate.
“Ms. Everhart, let’s not be modest. You’re the only one cut out for this task. No one else can handle it.
Find a suitable time to meet with them. I’ve got to run.” With that, Ethan stood up and briskly exited the
office, not leaving Thssa a moment to object.
“Hey, Mr. Ethan…” She tried to argue, calling out to his retreating figure.
But Ethan’s pace quickened, and soon he was out of sight.
Thssa sighed.
Ethan was a real piece of work, slyer than David, always pushing her into the fire.
Just the thought ofst night’s encounter in Lysander’s office, his unrestrained appetite for her, sent

shivers of dread through her.
Now she was being sent back there, her insides roiling in protest.
But a job was a job, and Ethan’s orders were not to be ignored.
