the decor and furnishings took luxury to a whole new level.
No wonder the price tag was in the millions!
“Thssa, Lysander really splurged on you this time. I mean, if the guy can drop that kind of dough,
why can’t hemit to a future with you?” Evelyn mused, still unable to wrap her head around it.
For Thssa’s sake, Lysander had built a mansion in exclusive Hollowbrook, and now he’d gone and
purchased this ptial estate in Starhaven.
When it came to spending money, the man was in a league of his own. Yet, when it came to matters of
the heart, his wallet might as well have been a steel trap.
“Mom, let’s just get our stuff inside,” Thssa said, sidestepping the conversation with an armful of
bags. She didn’t bother to answer Evelyn directly, expertly changing the subject.
This tired old topic didn’t need another go-around.
Evelyn settled into the guest room downstairs while Thssa imed a room on the second floor by
the staircase.
As Thssa was organizing her clothes, her phone buzzed with a call.
Seeing Lysander’s name on the screen, her nerves instantly tensed. She hadn’t even answered yet
and already felt the weight of his presence.
She put down the shirt she was folding, wiped off the non-existence dust on her hands, and answered
the call.
“Have you settled in?” Lysander’s deep, resonant voice held no hint of emotion.
“Yep, just got in,” Thssa replied earnestly.
“Do you like it?” Lysander asked.
There was a pause. Thssa knew what he wanted to hear. “The ce is huge and gorgeous. I mean,
it’s a vi. Who wouldn’t love living here?”
Silence on the other end.
After a two-second pause, Thssa added, “Where are you? I’lle over.”
Lysander’s grip on his phone tightened ever so slightly. It had always been him seeking her out. Her
offering toe to him was a rarity.
“The Sinir Group, CEO’s office,” Lysander stated his location.
“Okay, I’ll be there in half an hour,” said Thssa.
As soon as she finished speaking, the line went dead.

Thssa pulled the phone away from her ear, nced at the screen to confirm the call had ended,
then went downstairs to inform Evelyn before heading out.
The Sinir Group, CEO’s office.
Lysander had finished his pile of paperwork and no new files hade in.
Sitting back in his chair, he stared at hisputer screen as David came in to report on a few work
matters. Noting that Lysander had wrapped up his work and his gaze hadn’t shifted from the monitor,
David realized his boss must be winding down.
Wrapping up the briefing, David ventured, “Mr. Sinir, it’s already seven. Are you not going home?
That’s all from today’s meeting, and there’s no more work pending.” ending.”
Lysander shot him a nce that could freeze boiling water.
David paused, aware he might have overstepped. Was that look telling him to mind his own business?
He tightened his cor and quickly bowed his head, saying, “Mr. Sinir, your diligence sets the bar for
us all. Is there anything else you’d like me to take care of? I can stayte and help you with overtime.”
No sooner had he finished than he was met with Lysander’s icy stare, den with that familiar
oppressive force.
