Chapter 839
"Head over to Sinir Group to discuss the handling of this debacle," Leopold tossed out nonchntly
before hopping in his car and speeding off.
Amelia hesitated for a moment. Unease still washed over her so she decided to drive behind him.
Leopold arrived at Sinir Group, but rather than seeking out Lysander, he made a beeline for the
Public Rtions department.
Typically, it was their job to handle such incidents.
Leopoldid out his case to the head of PR, "A smartphone manufactured by Sinir Group
malfunctioned, causing the deaths of two workers. You need to release a statement immediately,
acknowledge your shorings, andpensate the families of the deceased with a billion dors
each."
The PR head was in a pickle. Releasing such a statement would be akin to admitting that Sinir
Group was responsible for the faulty product, and consequently, the fatalities.
This would undoubtedly tarnish thepany''s reputation, cause their stocks to plummet, and bring a
wave of negative publicity.
It wasn''t just a matter of two billion dors; it would put the entire reputation of Sinir Group at stake.
The decision was beyond his pay grade.
As he grappled with the dilemma, Lysander walked in. The tension in the room instantly spiked.
Upon seeing Lysander, Leopold''s demeanor hardened.
"Lysander," he began sternly, "are you reluctant to have the Sinir Group release a statement to take
the toll?"
Lysander''s gaze was piercing and intense as he retorted, "Is this your well-thought-out solution?"
Leopold locked eyes with Lysander’s piercing and adamant gaze. His heart sank.
At that moment, Amelia rushed into the office. Noticing the standoff between Leopold and Lysander,
she asked in a nervous tone, "What''s going on? Is there anything so serious that you two, uncle and

nephew, need to confront each other like this?"
Upon seeing Amelia, Leopold''s fists clenched at his sides; his jaw set and a hint of redness clouded his
amber eyes.
"Yes," he gritted out, "I was the one who had the phosphorus ced in the smartphones. The explosion
was ultimately my doing! I came here today to rectify my mistakes and I was just testing your reaction
earlier!"
"What?" Amelia was stunned.
"All of this started because of me. I have nothing left to lose. It''s time to end this," Leopold dered.
And before anyone could react, he dashed to the window and climbed onto the ledge.
His perilous move made Amelia''s heart lurch. She rushed forward to grab him, but Lysander beat her to
it. He lunged at Leopold, managing to grab a handful of his shirt. But it was too slippery and Leopold''s
body was carrying a considerable gravity.
As Lysander''s grip slipped, Leopold plunged from the window.
Lysander''s eyes widened in shock as his body turned taut.
"Leopold!" Amelia screamed in anguish.
Thssa and Ethan had arrived at Sinir Group to inquire about the investigation results of the
ident, only to find a swarm of reporters converging on the ce, likely for the same reason.
They were making their way towards the building when something fell from above, hitting the ground
with a sickening thud. Blood sttered everywhere.
The reporters up front shrieked and scrambled back.
Through the fleeing crowd, Thssa caught sight of the fallen figure - a man with short, chestnut hair
that shimmered under the sun. But the stters of blood oozed from his scalp quickly marred the
beautiful sight.
The figure, the hair, it was all too familiar.
Thssa froze in disbelief while she was staring at the horrific scene before her. It wasn''t until the
crowd had dispersed that the reality of the situation hit her.
It wasn''t until everyone had backed away that she stumbled forward with a plummeted heart.
She stumbled forward, her legs giving way as she fell to her knees before she got near to the man lying
motionlessly in front of her.
Her breath hitched, her heart felt constricted, her body numb, and her face pale. A sharp pain
wrenched her heart as she gazed at the lifeless body of Leopold.
