Skr could only reply, “What a coincidence.”

“Can I join you?” Rowan asked.

Minerva didn’t even look up, decisively rejecting him, “It’s not really convenient.”

Rowan stared at Minerva briefly before finally smiling and said, “I’ll treat you both some

other day. I have something to attend to, so I’ll be leaving now.”

As he walked away, he cast onest reluctant nce at Minerva. Unfortunately, she didn’t spare

him a single look the entire time.

“Great, he ruined my good mood. Jipsburg is so big. How could we run into him here?” Minerva

frowned, clearly affected by Rowan’s sudden appearance.

Skr hesitated, unsure how to mention Rowan with Minerva. To Minerva, Rowan was

definitely a bastard. However, Rowan was a friend to Skr.

Sensing that she had said something inappropriate and wanting to avoid making Skr

ufortable, Minerva quickly changed the subject. She asked, “Shall we order the food?

    “Sure.”

Both of them drove themselves, opting not to drink alcohol and instead having some freshly

    squeezed juice.

As they neared the end of their meal, Minerva told Skr, “I’m going abroad to study in a bit.

I’ll be gone for two or three years.”

“Really? That’s so sudden.” Thest time they met, Minerva mentioned wanting to leave Jipsburg

because she was preparing to study abroad. Skr hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly.

Minerva nodded. “I think it’s sudden too. It feels like fate. Leaving Jipsburg now is good for me. A

change in the environment will help clear my head.

“But we’ve only just gotten to know each other, and now I’ll be leaving Jipsburg. Don’t forget

about me over the next two years. Let’s keep in touch.”

She felt a pang of reluctance to part with Skr. She wished they had met a few years earlier, but

given her situation now, studying abroad was her only solution.

Since Rowan and Jenny had broken up, her family reconnected with the Rowan family. With

Rowan’s ambiguous attitude, both families believed there was still a chance for them.

Previously, she hadn’t been opposed to her family’s arranged unions. But after everything that

had happened, she felt a deep–seated resistance.

She was also afraid of her wavering feelings. Rowan was the type of guy who toyed with women’s

feelings, and there was nothing worth holding onto there.

Yet, sometimes, she found herself reminiscing about their time together.

Indeed, matters of the heart could make one lose their sanity. She didn’t want to fall into such a

quagmire, so leaving was the best choice.

Skr couldn’t help but feel reluctant about Minerva’s departure. “Have you set a date for when

    you’re leaving?”

“Next week. I’ll head over a little early.”

“Best of luck with your studies. I hope everything goes smoothly for you while you’re abroad.”

    “Thank you.”

Inside a café, Vera finally met Molly.

Molly was stunning by nature, and her upbringing only enhanced her elegance. She carried the

    demeanor of a refineddy.

Even though her rtionship with Edwin wasn’t as harmonious as people imed, she appeared

    completely unaffected.

She seemed to be in good spirits. In contrast, Vera, who was only over 20 years old, appeared

    somewhat worn out.

Vera still bore the traces of dark circles under her eyes. So when she saw that Molly was doing so

well, anger surged within her. “So, you finally decided to meet me.

Molly sipped her coffee, seemingly ignoring Vera’s fury. “I’ve been really busy these past few days. I

didn’t mean to avoid you, Ms. Ruell.”

“You know very well whether you’re avoiding me on purpose. I no longer want the statue from my

home, so please take it back. From now on, we have nothing to do with each other.”

Vera pressed her temples, unsure if it was just her imagination. But every time she mentioned not

wanting the statue, a headache would begin to throb.

She hadn’t slept well the night before.

Molly raised an eyebrow. “The statue is yours now. I can’t take it back. Besides, you have a

connection with it. As long as you truly venerate it, your wishes will be fulfilled in due time. If you

give it away or throw it out now, it will backfire on you.”
