    Mona sounded a bit irritated. When she hung up, she grumbled that no man should keep a girl

    Even after her breakup with Joe, Skr didn’t seem to have lost herself. She hadn’t aired the issues


    online or tried to leverage the situation against Joe.


    From what Annie knew, many people still didn’t even know Skr existed. While everyone was busy


    discussing Lizzie and Vera, no one mentioned Skr.


    Skr asked, “Where are you and my brother staying?”


    “You’re still as sharp as ever. Who helped you find my new number? Was it Joe? Never mind who it


    was. What matters is that Steven is indeed with me at the hotel. He drank something spiked, and I


    saw it happen, so I took him away. Rest assured, nothing happened between us.” Annie assured
