    Skr frowned. She wondered what was wrong with Joe.

    She took a deep breath and said, “It’s already past 2:00 am. If you’re not going to bathe, I’ll go


    first.”


    She regretted asking him. So, she locked the bathroom door as soon as she shut it.


    Looking at the locked bathroom door, Joe’s face darkened with anger.


    Skr finished in about ten minutes. When she exited the bathroom, she nced at Joe and said,


    “You can go now.”

    Skr raised an eyebrow, sensing his anger, but she didn’t know where it came from. It waste,


    and she didn’t have the energy to find out, so she just went to sleep.


    When Joe came out of the bathroom 15 minutester, he saw Skr asleep on the bed. He could


    hear her steady breathing as he approached the bed.

    After a while, Joe moved closer to Skr and wrapped her in his arms.


    Skr, seemingly used to Joe’s embrace, didn’t wake up. In fact, her breathing became even


    steadier. As he held her, the restlessness in Joe’s heart vanished, and he soon fell asleep.


    Skr woke up at 6:30 am.


    She was worried about Simona, and it was also the agreed time for Aiken to pick her up, so it felt

    Just as she was about to get out of bed, she realized Joe’s arm was wrapped around her. So, she

    But as soon as she moved, he tightened his hold, pulling her back into a firm embrace.

    A cold and clear voice devoid of sleepiness came from beside her ear. “Did you forget we’re


    supposed to continue shooting the wedding photos today?”


    Skr had indeed forgotten about that. In her mind, she had already assumed there wouldn’t be


    time to finish the shooting. She also thought Joe might not want to continue. Yet here he was,


    insisting on continuing the photoshoot.


    Unfortunately, she didn’t want to.


    “We took plenty yesterday. It should be enough. I’m tired and don’t want to take more.


    “Something happened to Simona yesterday, and she’s not in a good state. I promised I’d be with


    her today. Plus, aren’t you busy?”


    Joe red at her. “What exactly are you upset about?”


    “So, you’re allowed to leave whenever somethinges up, but when it’s my turn, I can’t do that?


    Mr. Martin, what’s with the double–standard?” Skr was getting furious as well.


    She pushed him away and got out of bed, heading straight to the bathroom to freshen up.
