    Skr nodded lightly and looked around. Paul and Howard were the only ones in the room. Skr


    asked, ‘Where’s Joe?”


    “He went to handle a few things. Just now, he texted me saying that he’ll be arriving at the hospital


    soon,” Paul exined. He Un’t spell out where Joe had gone. Cowardly people would be terrified by


    what Joe had personally done.


    Paul could make a few guesses as to what had gone down. After all, he had all the evidence of


    Edwin’s wrongdoings.


    Skr did not delve into the topic. She asked, “Does Mrs. Martin Senior know that I was


    kidnapped?”


    “Yes,” Paul answered while nodding. Gloria wasn’t the only one who’d found out. Alexander and


    George also heard the news. They’d put in work behind the scenes to find her. If not, she wouldn’t


    have been found this quickly.


    However, tonight had been an extremely close call. If they’d gotten here half an hourter, Skr


    would’ve been raped.


    Skr hurriedly said, “Help me tell Mrs. Martin Senior about my situation. Ask her not to worry. I’m


    perfectly fine.”


    “Alright, I’ll tell her about it right now.”


    Paul made the call right in front of her. She felt relieved.


    A few minutester, Paul headed to the doctor’s office. As he led the doctor back into Skr’s


    room, a figure appeared before them.


    Jenny stared at Paul and Drake Stone, Skr’s main physician. She’d


    overheard their conversation.


    They were discussing Skr’s condition. Skr had woken up. Drake consoled Paul and asked him


    not to worry. He also said that Skr’s wounds had been tended to, so there wouldn’t be any


    problems.


    Indeed, she’d guessed correctly.


    Something had happened to Skr. While she was sick with a fever and in

    It had been enough for Joe to ignore her till now. He hadn’t even replied to her texts.


    The most important thing was Paul’s attitude. He coldly brushed her off and asked her to call

    Jenny couldn’t help but trail behind Paul and Drake. She wanted to see Skr for herself.


    Not before long, she caught sight of Joe.


    He strode over swiftly and entered the room before Paul could. It was as though he had tunnel

    She stood outside the room and listened to their conversation.


    Joe said gently, “Don’t worry. Everyone who hurt you will pay for it as long as I’m here.”


    “Yeah, I believe you,” Skr replied weakly.


    Jenny could tell that Skr was badly hurt. She bit her lip. Jealousy coursed through her veins.


    Even though she’d grown up with Joe, he’d never treated her with such care.
