Nash followed all the way to the operating room, watching as Nina was wheeled inside. He could only stand at the door, his anxiety mounting. He felt as if the weight of the world was pressing down on him. Suddenly, he remembered something and added, "Save her, and also save her child!"
As Nina disappeared through the door, a sense of darkness enveloped Nash. He stood at the entrance to the operating room, panting heavily. Sweat dripped from his forehead, his chest heaving as he remained rooted in ce for a long time. It felt like countless threads were pulling at his heart, making it hard for him to breathe. He felt a bit scared.
Scared that Nina might be in danger.
Scared that if Nina lost the child, she might resent him.
In that moment, he truly felt it. Though he could not ept the child, he was even more afraid of losing Nina.
Nash remained silent, not uttering another word throughout. He was sitting in a nearby chair, his head bowed, his face filled with worry. His palms were sweating profusely. Quincy hurried over, his phone ringing incessantly. He knew Nash was worried about Nina and did not want to take any calls. But as a subordinate, he still had to report. "Mr. York, there''s a call for you."
Nash did not even nce at the phone. "I''m not answering it," he replied.
Quincy looked at the caller ID but said nothing further, simply hanging up.
Meanwhile, Nash''s assistant tried calling him but was promptly hung up on. She had no choice but to inform Miranda, "Miranda, Mr. York isn''t taking calls."
Miranda was putting on earrings and replied, "How could that be? He knows he has to attend the premiere, I''m just trying to remind him. Why won''t he pick up?"
She had not bothered Nash recently. Previously, he had made himself clear, and she naturally understood when to approach and when to withdraw. She did not want to provoke any feelings of aversion in him.
She could have her assistant make the call, maintaining a distance. Besides, she knew what was most important to Nash.
He had been with Nina for many years, reluctant to let her go, so he should be even more reluctant to let go of his business and ambitions.
These were things Miranda could help him with. If Nina had been able to help him before, so could she. Perhaps, over time, he woulde to realize it.
The assistantined, "He''s probably been held up by that someone again."
Miranda added, "I heard from Sally that Nina has moved out. It seems like the divorce is a done deal. Impossible!"
She even felt that with Nina gone, there would be no more contact between them.
The assistant continued, "I heard
someone say that Mr. York went to see Ni?a. He goes to see her every day, traveling from far away.d don''t know what''s gotten
ene et
She could not understand why Nash, who usually ignored Miranda, would go out of his way to see Nina.
As soon as this was said, Miranda snapped the lipstick she was holding!
She felt like her good days wereing, it was just a matter of time. But Nash was still entangled with Nina, keeping her awake every night.
Miranda was angry, but on the
surface, it did not matter. She tossed the broken lipstick into the trash, picked up another one, and applied it, saying, "It''s fine, lethim see Nina."
Seeing Miranda being so magnanimous, the assistant wanted to say something, but Miranda interrupted, "Go get me a jacket, I''m cold."
The assistant had no choice but toN?velDrama.Org ? 2024.
Miranda took her phone and
sent a message, "What has Nina
up totely?"
The reply came after a while, "She seems to be working at the TV station."
Reading the message, Miranda paused. After leaving Nash, Nina went to work at the TV station. She could not quite figure out what Nina was thinking.
A momentter, the other person sent her another message, "She seems to be pregnant."
