    Chapter 104 - Powerful Means

This was a matter of the wills of two families.

A stand-in boyfriend certainly couldn''t resolve such an issue.

    Leng Xue was oversimplifying things.

“No matter what, I won''t bow to my family''s will,” Leng Xue dered with resolve.

“If Soong Yu keeps bothering you, I''ll take care of him,” Ye Hao stated.

“Don''t do that,” Leng Xue eximed, startled.

Soong Yu was the legitimate heir to the Soong family. If Ye Hao harmed Soong Yu, not even the Lin family could shield him.

“I''m just kidding,” Ye Hao said with a chuckle.

“You frightened me,” Leng Xue said, giving Ye Hao a stern look.

“If there''s nothing else, I should get back to my ss.”

“Do you aspire to be a doctor?” Leng Xue asked out of the blue.

    “No.”

“Then why did you enroll at Riverdale College?”

“Because my parents wanted me to study traditional medicine there. Plus, it secures a promising future for me,” Ye Hao murmured.

Subsequently, Ye Hao returned to the ssroom to continue his studies.

Following the morning''s four sses, Ye Hao and his three roommates headed for the exit.

Stepping out of the ssroom, Ye Hao spotted Xu Mengmeng.

She stood silently by the door, her beauty drawing attention.

Upon seeing Ye Hao, her face lit up with a smile.

She approached Ye Hao swiftly, handing him a stack of papers. “Here''s the material for the idiompetition,” she said.

    “Is this everything?”

“Do you think you can get through all this material in half a month?” Xu Mengmeng asked, eyes wide with curiosity.

“If I set my mind to it, I could probably do it in four or five days,” Ye Hao estimated.

“Once you''re done, I''ll find more resources for you at the library,” Xu Mengmeng offered quietly, clearly impressed.

She thought to herself, “I was right. Ye Hao has an incredible memory.”

“Let''s see how I do with these first,” Ye Hao replied, nodding.

“May I add you on QQ? I''ll send you thepetition guidelines,” Xu Mengmeng suggested, her cheeks coloring.

“Sure,” Ye Hao responded, pulling out his phone.

After exchanging QQ information, Xu Mengmeng whispered, “As a token of my gratitude, I''d like to invite you out for a meal.”

At that moment, Zhang Lan approached. She affectionately linked arms with Ye Hao and said, “I''d like to join you.”

    Ye Hao tensed involuntarily.

    Just then, his phone rang.

    Ye Hao answered the call.

    “Have you been discharged?”

“Yes, I''m right outside your school gate.”

“I''m on my way,” Ye Hao replied before hanging up.

“I''m really sorry, I have to step out,” Ye Hao told Xu Mengmeng. “I''ll make it up to you with a meal next time.”

“If you''re busy, then go ahead,” Xu Mengmeng responded gently.

Once Xu Mengmeng had departed, Zhang Lan turned to Ye Hao with a questioning look. “Who was that on the phone?”

    “May.”

“Who''s May?” Zhang Lan''s expression became guarded.

“You don''t know her,” Ye Hao said, checking the time. “I need to go.”

Watching Ye Hao hurry off, Zhang Lan stamped her foot in frustration and quickly followed.

Upon reaching the school gate, Zhang Lan spotted a luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom. A beautiful girl with gold-rimmed sses stood by the car.

The girl then joined Ye Hao inside the vehicle.

A wave of anxiety washed over Zhang Lan.

“What is their rtionship?” she wondered, her mind racing.

Confusion and sadness overwhelmed Zhang Lan.

She desperately tried to get closer to Ye Hao, but he consistently pushed her away.

Ye Hao was always shrouded in mystery, never letting her in.

Arriving at the sanatorium, Ye Hao was greeted by the sight of Lin Rou''er, still noticeably pale.

“Why did you rush to leave the hospital?” Ye Hao asked softly.

“If I didn''t leave, the Vluwno Group would fall into disarray,” Lin Rou''er said with a hint of bitterness.

Ye Hao simply shook his head, offering no further argument.

Everyone has their own burdens to bear.

    “Shall we go, then?”

    “Yes, let''s.”

Walking was still agonizing for Lin Rou''er, her injuries not yet fully healed.

She was sweating profusely by the time she settled into the car.

Seeing her difort, Ye Hao spoke gently, “Give me your hand.”

Lin Rou''er''s face broke into a smile as she said, “Thank you.”

Ye Hao ced two fingers on Lin Rou''er''s wrist and gently infused a stream of vital spirit. As time passed, Lin Rou''er felt the pain in her body vanish. Moreover, she sensed an unending strength within her.

    “Thank you.”

“If you''re tired, you should take a break.”

    “I can''t afford to.”

    “Why not?”

“Each of my decisions impacts the livelihoods of fifty thousand employees and the interests of eighteen shareholders. I must consider each one carefully.”

“The Lin family''s future shouldn''t rest on the shoulders of a woman.”

Lin Rou''er shook her head gently.

If she had a choice, she would prefer not to bear it.

Yet, the Lin family''s second generation was preupied with power struggles and profit, and the third generation was even more fixated on indulging in life''s pleasures. Apart from herself, the Lin familycked any other capable heirs.

About half an hourter, Lin Rou''er arrived at Vluwno Group.

The building, a thirty-three-story circr edifice, stood as an iconic structure in Glento.

The top brass of thepany were stunned by Lin Rou''er''s unexpected arrival; no one had anticipated her discharge from the hospital so soon.

Once in the general manager''s office, Lin Rou''er issued an order for an emergencypany meeting to be held within the hour.

Anyone absent would be immediately dismissed.

Lin Rou''er''s directive alerted thepany''s senior executives to the possibility that she might hold the upper echelons ountable.

In her absence, the Lin family''s executives had made several disastrous decisions.

Their power struggles had thrown the Vluwno Group into disarray.

Subsequently, Lin Rou''er summoned all department heads to her office. With three minutes to go before the meeting, she rose and entered the conference hall.

Most of the seats were filled, yet a few remained empty.

After exchanging greetings with a few shareholders, Lin Rou''er took her ce. Her eyes then settled on her watch.

As the meetingmenced, Lin Rou''er spoke with authority, “Close the doors of the conference room. No further admittance is permitted.”

The head of security, tasked with maintaining order, immediatelymanded two guards to shut the main gate.

“Rou''er, hasn''t your Uncle arrived yet?” a middle-aged woman asked with concern.

“I''ve already stated that anyone who fails to arrive on time will be dismissed,” Lin Rou''er responded calmly. “There''s no traffic congestion at this hour.”

“You''ve lost your mind. He''s your Uncle,” the woman, who was Lin Rou''er''s third aunt, eximed.

“Thepany''s policies must be adhered to by everyone. Moreover, the Vluwno Group isn''t solely owned by the Lin family,” Lin Rou''er exined, gesturing towards the eighteen shareholders. “They hold thirty-six percent of thepany''s shares.”
