the police station?”

“Gordon called and asked me to look after you.” He did not conceal anything.

“What did that girl with the swollen face do to you?” He still found the scene he witnessed at the police
station earlier amusing.
Taking a sip of her drink, she stated bluntly, “She messed with Gordon’s girl. I just got back at her on
his behalf.”
Walter was filled with disbelief.
