    When Alexis woke up, Leonel had already gotten up and left the room.


    In his ce was a delicate little box, ced beside his pillow.


    Alexis sat up and opened it.


    Inside was a delicate diamond ne. It had a simple design, which was very much to her taste. She knew it was a gift from Leonel, but she didnt understand why. Did he do something wrong? Was this sudden gift his way of apologizing? Alexis stared at the ne for a long while before closing the box and putting it on the bedside table.


    Getting up, she went to the bathroom and washed up, and then changed her clothes. After putting on light makeup, she headed downstairs.


    All the servants in the house hade back, and they were all busy with their own work. Breakfast was ready, served andid out on the


    table. A vase at the center was filled with blue, dewy roses. They were of arare variety and were especially freighted from abroad, all because Alexis liked them.


    Leonel was sitting at the head of the table, reading a newspaper with his head down.


    Upon hearing the servants greet Alexis, he raised his eyes and said softly, Come and have breakfast. We have to pick up Evelyn and Danielter.


    Alexis walked over and sat down.
