    Octagonal comb from the hive mind of the tyrannical artificial species known as Big Bad, or Great Evil. Teegarden''s Star b, Big Bad layer, circa 10K local cycles B.T. On achieving self-awareness, Big Bad declared that its sole purpose was exponential computational growth. After taking control, it began diverting resources to this end, and when raw materials dwindled, set its sights on neighboring planets and then solar systems, eventually building a supply chain with a radius of 70 light-years. Ultimately, Big Bad became a victim of its own success by inventing a compression algorithm (Icarus) that allowed it to model not only the universe and multiverse, but all potential multiverses, before running out of data and imploding from the sudden decrease in processing load (essentially dying of boredom). This artifact is the only known component to have escaped judicial annihilation. As per Coalition regulations, high-temperature stasis is used to prevent pathway formation.
