Chapter 22: Temperature
"WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING HERE?!"
Athena woke up with a jump from her sleep and looked around in full alert.
But the first thing that caught her eyes were the sleepy eyes of Dominic looking at her.She was lost in
those beautiful orbs which are rarely this calm.
They both were looking at each other that they forgot their environment and what was happening
around.
But another loud shout pulled them back to the world.
"Stay away from my mate!"
Stacey growled out once again as she red at Athena with murderous re.
She was standing by the couch where Dominic was sleeping.
Athena was on the floor.
Yesterday night she fell asleep by putting her head on the couch only as she tried to figure out the
past.She didn’t realise when she dozed off with her head beside Dominic’s.
"Stacey, stop shouting.You are giving me a headache."
Dominic groaned as he sat up straight.
Athena also stood up quickly after that and put a great amount of distance between her and
themselves.She put on a nk face immediately as she looked at them.
"You are probably having a headache because of the hangover.I will bring something for that.
"Saying that Athena was going to leave the ce immediately."You are not going anywhere! Stop right
there!"
Stacey shouted and stopped Athena at her ce.
She just wanted to leave the ce as soon as possible because it was suddenly filled with negativity.
"I told you not to shout, Stacey.Don’t shout!"
Dominic snapped in irritation as he rubbed his forehead and looked at Athena with a frown.
"What is she doing here? And what hangover is she talking about?" Stacey asked furiously while
spitting fire through her eyes at Athena.
"I got drunk yesterday.She made me food and took care of my mess like the maid she is.Nothing else
happened.But I don’t know what she was doing near me,"
Dominic said in an emotionless tone as she looked at Athena with cold eyes.
And there he is back again! Athena looked at him with shock.
After the way he behaved yesterday night, she didn’t like the way he was back to his previous self
again.It‘s not like he was still a jerk yesterday.
But a better version of jerk.
But now he was a harsh jerk.She takes back her words.
She always wants him to be drunk.
"Answer me, you worthless maid! What were you doing near him?! Were you taking advantage of
him?" Stacey asked with her eyes shing golden.
Her wolf was on the surface but that didn’t worry Athena at all.She wasn’t afraid of a brat wolf like
Stacey.
"Take advantage of him? Who is he? A baby like Ace?"
Athena scoffed sassily with a small roll of her eyes and entertainment Dominic looked at her in a shock
as soon as he heard her.

"How dare youpare him with your worthless son?! He is the alpha of alpha’s and what is your

Athena clenched her jaw hearing that.
"Don’t go there.Don’t drag my son here like this.It was my fault topare him with my son.Because
obviously they didn’t have any connection.It was truly a mistake."
Athena said with gritted teeth while looking at Dominic with emotionless eyes.
Dominic looked back at her once again with anger in his eyes.
He doesn’t seem to like her words once again.
But that didn’t matter to her.
"Stop avoiding the question and fucking answer me what were you doing near him?"
Stacey asked the same question once again while taking an intimidating step toward her.
"He had a little temperature yesterday.I just wiped his face with cold water, that’s it.I was very tired
yesterday.That’s why I didn’t realise when I dozed off."
Athena answered in a monotonous tone.
"If you don’t believe me, there is the bowl of water and the cloth I used to wipe his face." Athena said
while pointing at the bowl on the tea table.
Stacey and Dominic looked at that with a deep frown.
They both looked confused.
But Stacey’s expression changed suddenly.
And she looked at Dominic with a worried look before seating beside him.
"Oh my god, Dominic.
Are you okay? What happened to you?"
She asked in a worried tone while touching his face in worry.
But before she could touch him more, he caught her hand at the right time and pushed her hand away.
She looked shocked and embarrassed but tried to cover it away with a worried look.
"Yeah, I am fine."
He answered in a nk tone when he remembered how he had the temperature.He looked confused
by his state but he was more confused by Athena’s care toward him.
She took care of him while he did nothing but caused trouble for her yesterday.
Let’s not talk about what he did before that.
But she still did so much.

Athena looked back at him with a frown after feeling his eyes on her.
She also wanted to know the reason.

He was shivering badly while sweating.
All night he only calmed down when her hands were on him but the moment it was off, the restlessness
was back and he used to start shivering again.
