The inscriptions automatically blocked the sr ray even without Quard''s control and not only that, it was even deflected back to its creator
This surprises Rezen a bit but it was not something that would cause his defeat. The sr ray was sent back to him and his hands skillfully moved his magic wand and rotated it as if he was a cheerleader holding a baton
The sr ray hits the magic wand but it was sent to Rezen''s side and it was only able to harm the poor ground, leaving a ck scorched mark on it
"Y-you!" Quard''s face turned red from the humiliation. He had to rely on his mage robe''s built-in defense to deal with Rezen''s attack
In a sense, it could be considered as cheating as he had to rely on an external item. Porenz might have lost to Rezen but she didn''t use her life-saving treasures. It was undeniably an honorable defeat on her part
However, now that Quard relied on his mage robe, even if he won, it wouldn''t be a victory that he likes. People would just think that he won by relying on external items
This humiliation was something he wants Rezen to pay for and he raised his magic wand
The mirrors floating around himbined into onerger mirror that sent a thicker and stronger light ray at Rezen
He wants to defeat Rezen in the most humiliating way but the thing is, whether he has the capability to do so is still unknown
Rezen once again gathered mana at the tip of his magic wand and he sent another sr ray

The sr ray and light ray met each other, sending energy sparks around the point of contact. Strong winds blew as the two simple magic shed against each other, disturbing the natural mana nearby
As much as Quard wanted to overpower Rezen he was finding it difficult to do so. Even someone like Quard that has a lot more mana than most mages at the same rank still has to be mindful of his mana consumption. He might be arrogant but he is still talented and knowledgeable. He knows that if a mage is not afraid of a sh like this, it means that they are confident of their mana capacity
If it was before, Quard would also be confident considering that he came from a strong family in the outer walls. But after being hit by Rezen''s magic, his confidence was dampened and he doesn''t have the guts to fight Rezen in a battle where the winner would be dictated by their control and mana capacity

Rezen might not have the really rare and precious resources that people like Porenz and Quard have but he makes up for it with the quantity that he can consume
All the Spirit nts he consumed have purities over 90% and that means he can consume more Spirit nts at a time without umting too much impurities. Not to mention, there were also the Spirit nts that absorb the properties of various potions
When ites to mana capacity, Rezen is confident that he has more mana than most people at the same rank and his mana capacity is still increasing
"Damn it!" Quard cursed and after seeing that his simple magic didn''t work he decided to cast a magic spell but to do so, he has to make sure that Rezen cannot interrupt him
After all, there is a reason why mages use simple magic more often. Simple magic is easier to use and requires less time. Magic spells on the other hand are moreplicated and require more time to castpared to simple magic
Once again, therge mirror floating above Quard broke down into smaller mirrors, and this time there are more of them than before
From the initial number of five, the mirrors'' number turned into seven and all the mirrors approached Rezen while sending light rays in his direction
In exchange, Rezen formed multiple fireballs to destroy these mirrors while saying. "If you want time to cast a magic spell, do it. I promise, I will not attack you" he said confidently
What Rezen needed is an indisputable victory. In that way, he can change the minds of his schoolmates to some extent and he would have an easier time while studying in the academy<novelsnext></novelsnext>
For that to happen, he has to let his opponent use everything that they have. Only then can he show tyrannical might
"Are you looking down on me?!" Quard said angrily but his anger just further fueled his desire to beat Rezen and he epted the offer
He pointed his magic wand at Rezen and suddenly more mirrors formed around him
There were at least fifteen mirrors that surrounded Rezen in all directions. There were mirrors on his left, right, behind, in front, below, and above
"[Mirror World!]"
Quard moved and he entered one of the mirrors and his figure was reflected by them. There was no knowing where he really is
"Today, you will learn not to be arrogant!" All the reflections of Quard on the mirrors said at the same time and even Rezen cannot sense where the real him is
"Ivy, where is the real Quard?" Rezen asked inside his head as he knew that Ivy could hear his thoughts
"Master should find his opponent himself" Ivy simply replied. This is one of the times when Ivy wants Rezen to fix things on his own for the benefit of his personal growth
Although Rezen doesn''t mind that since it was something he really needed, he was still disappointed
What he wants to do is to show unparalleled might. If Ivy helped him to discover the location of the real Quard then that would be the best and would show people that he got some real skills
Unfortunately, Ivy wants him to deal with this on his own and since he cannot sense where Quard is from these mirrors then all he has to do is to destroy all of them
Rezen suddenly jumped while wielding his magic wand and he immediately reached one of the mirrors
He sent a sr ray from his magic wand, intending to destroy this mirror just like what he did earlier
However, he found out that things were not that easy. His sr ray instead of destroying the mirror actually entered it. The mirror absorbed the magic and the hair on Rezen''s body stood up as he sensed danger and the movement of mana behind him
The sr ray that was absorbed by the mirror in front of Rezen was sent back to him by the mirror behind him
Rezen swiftly lowered his head and he was able to barely dodge his own magic but it was reabsorbed by the mirror and another mirror sent it to him again
He narrowed his eyes as he continuously dodged the sr ray and he decided to try another form of attack
Rezen approached a mirror again while clenching his left fist. Rocks formed and covered his fist and he attempted to punch the mirror
If magic attacks can be absorbed by the mirror then he would rely on physical attacks to destroy them
However, before Rezen couldnd a punch, the mirror sent a light ray in his direction and he barely blocked it with his fist
"Hahahaha! That''s useless! Once you''re inside my [Mirror World], you are doomed! That''s what you get for being so arrogant!" Quard''s voice echoed in the mirrors and Rezen scoffed at that
"Then I guess I have to be serious too" he said and as hended on the ground, a magic circle formed at the tip of his magic wand
The magic circle was yellowish gold in color and it gathered sr energies to form an arrow
This is currently the only attack-type spell that Rezen could use and while its form was not too shy, its might is not be underestimated
He was gathering arge amount of sr energy while forming an arrow with it. This was the same spell that he used against the alchemy doll that has the power of an average 5th cycle being. The spell''s power might not be enough to deal with a 5th cycle alchemy doll but things should be different if the target is just a 3rd cycle Deviant Mage
