Chapter 12: HOME SWEET HOME
Ngozi walks down the stairs with Daisy, Daisy was worried about Ngozi mental state. "You need our
help." Daisy pleads to Ngozi.
"I''m fine, you don''t have to bother yourself." Ngozi lies, she just wanted to be left alone.
"I''ll get help." Daisy says and vanishes back inside the amulet. Ngozi rolls her eyes, Daisy had been
disturbing her all morning, she walks down to the kitchen to make coffee but surprisingly she meets
Gboyega already making it.
"You''re up early." Ngozi said.
"I was nning on leaving then I figured out my step daughter wasing to visit." Gboyega says and
walks out of the kitchen not wanting to have any conversation with Ngozi, they both had a issue in the
past.
Gboyega walks down to the house entrance after hearing voices of the others, he gets there and meets
Tolu scolding the others
"You guys can''t just leave, it''s not done like that." Tolu shouts, the guys had ces to go to.
"Sorry but what I want to do might help us fine Papa, you guys can''te cause it''s a one person
mission." Ayo says firmly.
"I''m going to see my mom." Richard said as he faces his head down.
"Good for you, say hi to her for me." Ayo chuckles and walks out of the house, Richard was confused
he had told Ayo about his past more than anyone in this house even Gboyega knew that Richard going
to see his mother was going to be hard for me.
"Hey, it''s going to be fine." Gboyega pats Richard on his shoulder, Richard exhales out deeply and
walks out of the house to go and confront his mother.
"They''re forcing me out!" Ngozi cries out as Huffcupp, Daisy, Blitz and her dog lift her to take her to the

A hourter, Richard slowly gets down from a bus he could have easily teleported to his mother''s ce
but had no idea what she wanted to tell him or what he''ll say to her. "Poor child." Richard says as he
sees a little boy begging for money, he walks toward the boy and smiled, he then quickly dipped his
hand into his pocket and drops different notes of money, the young boy smiled and ran off. Richard had

Richard stood in front of a big mansion, it was the biggest house in that area. Richard gulps his saliva,
he turns around not wanting to go in but a guardes out of the mansion then quickly grabs Richard

"She''s waiting for you." He said firmly, Richard doesn''t make any attempt of escaping and gently
follows the man, they both go in and the outside of the mansion is filled with trees and different
dresses, sitting at the center of the ce is Mariam wearing a long white gown with heavy essories.
"Richard." Mariam gently whispers, she snaps her finger and the guard drags a chair to Richard for him
to sit.
"Mom." Richard says as he gently sits down.
"How did you do it son? You hid away from everyone, I sent men to find you, I used trackers but I
couldn''t reach. I need answers." She said aggressively, she wears a white glove and picks up a cup of
tea on the table and zips from it, Richard hated her but he admired the way she carried herself.
"I don''t have any idea of what you''re talking about, I just ran away and was quite surprised you didn''t
find me." He says gently.
"Yes even after you called for money I couldn''t still get you, anyways I have other things to talk about
with you. I''ll be hosting a party in the next three days and I want the viins to meet the new heir of my
empire." Mariam smiled manically, she knew that Richard was still scared of her cause of the way he
looked.
"I won''t be attending any party, I''m sorry." Said Richard.
"Son, when I killed your father........" Richard quickly interrupts her.
"You have the guts to tell me that your killed my father." Richard stood up from his chair.
"Sit down." She said in a very menacing tone, Richard looked into her eyes and all he could see was a
raging woman, she could kill him right now so he gently obeyed her.
"I am your mother and you would do what I want you to do and never raise your voice at me." She says
and bangs the table.
Richard still sitting on the chair waiting for Mariam to show up after so many hours, she left to get the
clothes she got him for the event. A man wearing ab coat passes Richard side, the man looked
familiar after minutes of staring Richard quickly recognized who it was.
"Doctor Bode." Richard says as he stands up from his chair, it was the doctor that took care of Richard
while he was still a child. "It''s me Richard!" Richard says andughs out loud, he streches both his
hands and hugs Bode.
"It''s been years Richard, I tried looking for you when you left but I couldn''t find you." Bode said, when
Richard ran away Bode was quite worried, he joined Mariam search party to look for him when they
couldn''t find him heter went to investigate by himself, after month of not getting to him Bodeter
gave up.
"I''m back, how''s everything? Be snappy about it." Richard says.
"Well I''m still Mariam doctor cause of the cash and let me tell you something, I''m a happy man I got
better. I have a wife and kids, life is going great. What about you?" Bode asked, Richard couldn''t
answer the question, he thought to himself what has he achieve since he left his home, he couldn''t
remember seeing Bode made him a little bit sad, feeling he had wasted most part of his life.
"It''s good, I''m happy too." Richard lied.
"We need to catch up." Bode says.
"That will beter boys, I''m still seeing my son." Mariam says as she majestically walks back to her
chair while holding a suit.
"No problem Ma." Bode runs off to wait for Mariam inside.
"I got you your suit son." She says and drops it on the table, Richard takes a nce at it and pushes it
aside.
"Mom, what if I want to do something different?" Richard said gently.
"And what do you want to do?" She asked sarcastically.
"I don''t know, maybe together we can figure it out." Richard tried holding her hand but she pushes him
disgusted by what he said.
"Don''t you ever think, you left me for more than ten years then one day out of nowhere you called my
line asking for money. Richard I''m sorry to say this to you but you''re a disaster, you can''t do anything
by yourself all you do is be a mess." She said aggressively.
"Mom......" Tears filled Richard eyes, he regretted telling her he''s n.
"When you called and said it was you, I was expecting some great news but all you did was asked for
money. Don''t you have shame? I''m trying to make a name for you and if that''s by our being a criminal
then so be it." She said boldly.
