Chapter 1396 The Appearance Of The Leader

Whether it would work or not did not matter, and Darren had to take the chance and at least give it a

    try.

"Have a look at this, you little bastard," Darren yelled.

He then pulled out the colorful g and waved it around for all to see.

    "Woo, woo, woo!"

The ck cat sprang up as if his tail had been stepped on, hissing with the hair on his back standing

    straight up.

This reaction gave Darren a little more confidence. The cat''s fear of the g was quite obvious now.

"Don''t act so slick, brat. Get rid of that g and let''s have a fair duel!"

    Puff!

    Darren couldn''t help butugh.

''You''re as powerful as the five-wed golden dragon. What sort of fair duel could we possibly have?''

he thought to himself, incredulous at this request.

"Could you be more ridiculous? Have you tried?" Darren said with contempt and mockery, feigning his

true nervousness at the gap in their power.

The ck cat hissed again and revealed his ws, scratching five deep shes into the ground and

    staring fiercely at Darren.

"Are you not aware of the rules? If I were to fight you, my strength would be suppressed to the level

that is a third more than your own. Do you really want to cheat and use that g? Even if you were to

win with it, you won''t be able to reach the space of inheritance," said the ck cat coldly.

"Ha-ha," Darren chuckled disdainfully. "If you''re so afraid, why not just admit defeat right now? That

way, your life will be spared."

He did not believe that the cat''s strength would be suppressed. He would not allow himself to believe it.

"Everyone, someone wants to be a cheater. Come out and kill him!"

growled the ck cat, baring his teeth.

    Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

The other eleven beasts leapt down from the walls and circled Darren, surrounding him entirely. He had

no escape except through them by force.

Darren took a quick nce around and found that these strange looking beasts all seemed to be even

more powerful than the ck cat. This was now getting to be a little more than he had bargained for.

"Put the g down and fight fairly with the cat. Do as we say, or we will be forced to rip you to shreds,"

yelled one of the Archean beasts in a hoarse and t voice.

"Damn you!" Darren yelled back, ring at the beast. "Tear me apart if you can, but don''t try to coax

    me like a child!"

"Your stubbornness knows no bounds! Go to hell then!"

    Roar! Roar! Roar!

All twelve Archean beasts roared at once. The force of their resonating roars almost shattered Darren

    to pieces.

Immediately, Darren infused his god''s sense into the colorful g and abruptly waved it around in

    retaliation.

A peculiar force was thrown out of it,

suddenly decreasing the twelve streams of fierce pressure.

To Darren''s disappointment, however, the colorful g appeared to have only weakened the

momentum of the roars by less than half. This meant only half of their strength was suppressed as well.

That was far less than enough.

The twelve beasts surrounding him were so powerful that even with only half of their fighting power,

any one of them could kill Darren and the dragon ancestor with a single move.

"Brat, I thought I was clear about you cheating. It is a rule set by our master and is not to be

disobeyed,'' revealed the ck cat with a wicked grin.

"Guys, tear him apart!" hemanded the other beasts.

    Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

They pounced on Darren all at once.

    Bang!

    Crack!

They did not kill Darren immediately, as they could have, but toyed with him instead, beating him and

kicking him back and forth between themselves.

    "Hum!"

The roar of a powerful dragon then shook the hall.

"How dare you bully the patriarch of the Chu n right in front of me? You dare act as though I am not

    even here?"

It was the five-wed golden dragon who spoke with such strength and stature. His body shone with

blinding golden light that rendered everyone unable to open their eyes.

A yellow gold aura of the dragon blood spurted out of the golden dragon''s mouth and struck the eleven

beasts. It hit them hard and sent them flying off into the wall with a heavy m.

All eleven beasts spat blood after taking the blow; it was a serious hit.

This allowed Darren to finally catch his breath.

''Damn it. It''s not as effective as I would have hoped,'' Darren cursed. ''Perhaps the ck cat really will

suppress his strength to fight me if I don''t use the g, just as he said he would.''

"Don''t stick your nose where it doesn''t belong. You may regret it," one of the beasts said to the golden

dragon. "Looks like there''ll be two dragons for our dinner tonight. I''m sure you don''t know how much

my buddies and I love dragon meat."

The beasts got to their feet again, not discouraged by the hit they had taken.

"You want to eat me? You''re vastly overestimating yourselves!" bellowed the golden dragon, raising his

    head arrogantly.

    "Attack!"

All the beasts rushed over and attacked the golden dragon wildly with their massive ws.

    Sweep!

A strong aura of the dragon blood gathered at the golden dragon''s tail. He was confident that a blow

with this would be enough to smash several beasts. Half of their strength had been suppressed after

    all.

    Crack!

A one thousand feet thick red divine thunder fell from the sky and crashed into the golden dragon.

His body immediately stiffened and shuddered, electricity charging through his veins and causing the

attacking power he had umted to vanish.

    Bang! Bang! Bang!

The twelve beasts, however, were unaffected by the divine thunder and they all pounced on the golden

    dragon and beat him violently.

It was not long before the golden dragon was severely mutted, almost beyond recognition.

Darren''s heart began to quicken at the sight of this. He now saw how bad a spot he was in. If even the

golden dragon had been defeated, what chance did he have?

"I apologize to you all. I was wrong and out of line," the golden dragon said meekly.

Both the dragon ancestor and Darren were stunned. They had never imagined that the golden dragon

would be beaten to the point of begging for mercy. It seemed he was more spineless than they had

    thought.

"We''ll roast you and enjoy your meatter," one of the beasts said before they took off.

The twelve beasts flew back tond in front of Darren once more.

"Not bad, your power is truly quite impressive," said Darren, cupping his hands. "It seems that it is time

for a fair battle," he added,

    putting the colorful g away.

"Fool! You have already broken the rules. It''s toote for you toe back from that," sneered the

    ck cat.

"But you never said what the rules were," Darren said innocently.

"Cut the crap. Cat, kill him."

    "As you say."

The ck cat strode over slowly towards Darren, one step at a time.

"Let me see who daresy a finger on Darren,"

echoed a cold voice throughout the hall, just in the nick of time.

Dozens of figures then appeared seemingly out of nowhere.

    "What are you doing here?"

Darren looked over to see that the new arrivals were Weber and his friends.

He had worried that Weber, Finley and the others would be killed by the ck dog and now wondered

how they had so suddenlye here to the hall.

    "Darren, are you okay?"

Weber asked as he and the others flew over.

The first thing Darren noticed was that Weber''s cloak had been changed to one made of ck dog fur.

"You killed the ck dog?" Darren asked in surprise.

"Well, of course we were not capable of that. We had the help of a powerful master," Weber replied

    with a smile.

"Your master and the other great masters have been freed from danger?" Darren was overjoyed, this

    was fantastic news.

"No, they have not, unfortunately. It was just our beloved turtle man who stood up and came to our aid.

If it weren''t for him, we would surely have been swallowed by the ck dog." Weber looked back over

his shoulder with admiration filling his eyes as he spoke.

The crowd separated to make a path, and ame turtle slowly crawled through the middle.

    It was the oldme turtle!

On the back of theme turtle was Jeremy jumping happily.

This confused Darren. How had theme turtle, a battle beast in the first space,e here?

Not just that, it was theme turtle who had helped his friends take care of the ck dog and rescued

them from harm. But how could he fight here?

    "Roar!"

    "Aooo! Aooo!"

    "Ah!"

The twelve beasts behind Darren suddenly roared and howled furiously, clearly roused by something.

Their powerful, vicious roars sent Darren flying through the air.

Fortunately, Weber and the others reacted quickly and caught him before any real damage was done.

After the explosion of roars, the twelve beasts and Darren''spanions all quieted down and the

    entire hall fell dead silent.

Theme turtle continued crawling slowly, finally stopping before the beasts.

A stalemate seemed to have been reached between both sides, each standing on opposite ends,

staring each other down like resolute statues.

The ck cat was the first to make a move and end the painfully long pause.

He moved so fast that one could not even see what had happened. He had hurled himself at theme

    turtle.

This was a worrying sight for Darren. Would thisme turtle be a match for these twelve fierce beasts?

"Boss, you have finally returned, I have missed you so much."

To the astonishment of both Darren and hispanions, the ck cat had stopped by the turtle''s side

and grasped his front foot gently, wailing and whining as he groveled.
