Chapter 595 Reaching A Compromise

    Chapter 595 Reaching A Compromise

"You are so much more powerful than your younger brother," Ricky told Martin as he steadied himself.

"But, there''s one thing you need to know. Listen—I, Ricky, truly detest how you used innocent people to

force me to appear before you." Ricky gave off an increasingly menacing aura.

He didn''t know all the details of the conflict among the Golden Leopard Valley, the Golden Rhino tribe

and the Nanchao n. He only heard about part of the story from Madeline''s previous narration. From

what he knew, he conjectured everything that Martin and his allies did to those innocent people was all

    because of him.

Ricky felt truly sorry for causing trouble to the Nanchao n. They shouldn''t have been hurt because

of unwarranted guilt. They were not acquainted with him and they certainly never conspired with him

against the people of the Golden Leopard Valley. They were all innocent! He was enraged by the

    bullies, especially Martin.

To be honest, had Martin avenged his younger brother''s death by attacking him directly, he would not

have been so furious. The matter concerned him and Martin. Thetter should not have involved

innocent people''s lives. He would never ever allow himself to let those people die for nothing.

Perhaps, that was what Ricky''s righteousness was all about.

"Oh? Is that so? You detest me for doing that? Tell me, do you like it when other people rob your

treasures? Tell me, do you like it when any member of your family get killed?" Martin scoffed at Ricky.

The former then raised his outstretched palm to caution Ricky from moving his lips. "Let me answer for

you. You wouldn''t like it and neither would I. If anyone dared to do those things, I would let him pay the

    price using any method possible!"

Martin''s eyes gleamed with overwhelming fury.

"Well, I think you should also pay the price for hurting innocent people. Killing you is enough to them!"

    Ricky pped back.

"Do you really think you can kill me? Others may see you as an ace genius, but I don''t think your

strength is enough. You are just a stepping stone to my advancement in the world of martial arts. You

are not worthy enough to defeat me," Martin sneered.

"Just wait and see. Perhaps I can use you as my stepping stone!" Ricky said resolutely. Martin was just

amon foe to him in the past. But right now, he was beginning to see him as a fiercepetitor.

''It''s exactly the right choice to be a member of the Oriental College. Indeed, there are countless

dangers and enemies all the way through, but there are also geniuses that I can meet andpete

against. The faster I make progress and be formidable, the sooner I can reach the base of the

Phoenix tribe and rescue Grace, '' Ricky thought.

He was confident about facing all the difficulties thaty ahead.

Just as Ricky was about to exert his full power for the next fight, Martin spoke as if he knew Ricky had

nned to go all out. "Yes, we need to have a fight and settle our former conflict, but not now.

I am not perfectly certain that I can take your life right now."

"Oh?" Ricky was startled. Martin''s words just now were unexpected.

Meanwhile, Martin conveyed the same message to Duncan using his spiritual sense. Upon hearing

Martin''s advice, Duncan immediately stepped back and stopped midway through his fight against

    Terrence.

Duncan understood what Martin really meant with his words, since they had already made a deal

    beforehand.

Thus, he withdrew from the fight without any protest.

"Why did you say ''oh'' as a response? Ricky, do you mean that you are capable of taking our lives now?

Are you that sure of your abilities?" Martin questioned Ricky''s startled expression.

"No, I am not even ''sure'' at all," Ricky responded.

Ricky didn''t even express all of his thoughts. He wanted to say that he was not merely "sure," but

actually confident enough that he could y them.

"All right. Let''s stop fighting for today and step back. We''ll settle our grievances next time," Martin said.

"Okay. I''ll just assume you put off the fight to practice new skills so you can finally be able to kill me off.

Am I right?" Ricky conjectured with augh.

"Well, you might think so. Now that you have taken our hostages, we''ll be taking our leave. Don''t try

and get in our way. Since I said I decided to stop fighting today, I will talk the talk and walk the walk,"

    Martin responded calmly.

"On the other hand," he added, "I can''t deny that if I could, I would have killed you the moment you set

    foot here."

"Ha-ha. Now I know exactly what you mean. But, how sure are you that I will really meet you at the

time and ce that you''ve arranged? Are you sure I am foolish enough to dance with death?" Ricky

    taunted.

"I also want to kill you right away, but I will wait until I am strong enough to face the entire force of the

Golden Leopard Valley. That should be the perfect timing for vengeance."

"Ha-ha. Whatever you think. You WILLe to meet me on the day that I set, won''t you? I know you

won''t miss this opportunity." Martin grinned with confidence.

"My former hostages that you just rescued will tell you where and when to meet me. I think you and I

have just reached apromise. That only means it''s time to leave," he informed Ricky.

He then turned to hispanions and called, "Everyone, it''s time to go!" In an instant, Martin, Duncan

and their allies gathered and left the area.

Terrence wanted to chase after them but Ricky did not allow him to do so.

"Ricky, what did they mean?" Terrence knew why Ricky prevented him from running after their foes.

Still, he couldn''t go after Martin''s group and ask for additional rifications. Thus, he pressed on to

Ricky to be more enlightened about the situation.

"Right now, I can''t say anything for sure either. But, we can ask Madeline''s cousins for answers. I''m

certain they will help us out with the details, especially after we rescued them from their captors," Ricky

rified, after momentarily thinking over everything.

Ricky and hispanions prepared themselves to leave and head for a safer ce.

A few momentster, they reached a secluded part in the Virulent Sand Flow. They traveled around the

"My name is Ricky Nan!" Ricky introduced himself to Samson and Carley, Madeline''s cousins.

"We''ve heard about you," Samson and Carley responded in voices that were somehow distant and…

bitter. Carley''s voice was a little gentler, however.

"I can tell just by your voices that you hate me so much!" Ricky murmured, slightly helpless.

"You may have saved both of us, but you were also the reason why our fellow geniuses in the Nanchao

n perished. They all died miserably," Samson exined with extreme anguish and pain.

To put it more precisely, Samson was clouded by a mixture of emotions at that moment.

He wanted to me the man, yet he understood pretty well that all these were not at all what Ricky

    hoped and expected.

"I feel sorry for your n. The only thing I can do for you now is to destroy Martin and his allies," Ricky

managed to utter sternly. It was difficult for him to speak his mind and look the siblings in the eye as he

felt the weight of his guilt wrap around his heart and his shoulders.

"Ricky, I hope you can understand how my cousins are feeling right now," Madelinemunicated

    through her spiritual sense.

"Madeline, don''t worry. I will try to understand them," Ricky responded, acknowledging the fact that it

might take a while before the unwanted tension between him and Madeline''s cousins would die down.

After assuring Madeline, Ricky wasted no more time and opened up about the question that, as he was

told by Martin, could be answered by the siblings.

"Could you tell me what Martin really meant by that?" Ricky asked hastily.

"I will tell you at the right time!" Samson said. "I''ve chosen to give you the information you need

because I want to see you and Martin engage in a brutal, cutthroat battle.

Or, more specifically, I want to see both of you get wounded severely and taste humiliating defeat! I

want you both to fight so hard that you both end up lying, writhing helplessly on the dirt while you gasp

and beg for thest moments of your pathetic lives!"

"Samson, don''t you dare talk like this! Have you forgotten how to judge fairly between what is moral

and what is not?" Soar was clearly enraged by Samson''s words.

If it were only up to him, Soar would have punched Samson hard and square right this second. But

thankfully he had good self-control, as he still remembered that Samson was Madeline''s cousin.

Meanwhile, however, Samson cared nothing about what Soar had said.

Soar opted to remain silent and restrain his urge to hit Samson. He knew how verbal or physical

violence wouldn''t help Samson and his sister settle the conflict.

"I get what you mean, but I want you to know who I really am," Ricky replied in a low and calm voice.

He wasn''t irritated or offended at all by Samson''s words.

He had expected that Samson would be furious, and that he would utter harsh words the moment they

get the chance to talk face to face. As it turned out, what Samson expressed earlier was much tamer

and milder than what Ricky had in mind.

Ricky cared little about Samson''s attitude towards him. Since Madeline was his friend and the siblings

were her cousins, he had to be serious and tough enough to help solve the conflict they were facing at

    the moment.
