Chapter 1402 Last Hope

    Chapter 1402 Last Hope

The whole process was bing more and more interesting to Darren.

Finding the ws in the so-called perfect de skill filled him with a great sense of aplishment.

Since he had begun this, he had fallen into a trance-like state, bingpletely oblivious of

himself. This was something he had never experienced in his cultivation before.

This allowed him to gradually find more and more ws.

As time here was frozen, he had no concept of how much time had passed either, but in that time he

had found around four hundred ws.

    N?velDrama.Org (C) content.

But that was in fact the trouble; he had only found four hundred.

In order to find these ws, Darren had studied the de skill more than a million times!

He had pulled all the brain power he possibly could but still could not find any more ws.

He had hit a wall, one that was truly difficult to break through.

And at a bad time too, he was still a long ways away from the over eight hundred ws he was

    supposed to find.

"This appears to be my limit," Darren sighed, somewhat exhausted and disappointed.

He believed he had figured out all the ws there were and there was nothing more he could do.

As it stood, he had onlypleted half the mission and this only heightened his frustration.

It even began driving him to question whether he had enough talent orprehension toplete the

    task before him.

But he did not let all this get the better of him. Instead, he was calm and forced himself to remain so to

think it over and find a solution.

In the past, he might not have been able to suppress his irritation so easily, but after experiencing the

baptism of time, it was not so difficult anymore.

It seemed that perhaps the owner of the Archean relic was very far sighted indeed. Only a genius

capable of remaining calm and collected would be able to get his inheritance. And those who could not

would most likely kill themselves due to the torture of endless time in this ce.

More than forty beams of light enveloped more than forty human talents.

All of whom were being tested.

    "That''s it. I give up! It''s impossible. It''s impossible!"

It took a long while, but eventually, someone finally broke the silence.

"How is it possible that this fist skill has four hundred ws? I''ve only found twelve. This is killing me!"

Once that cultivator had finished speaking, the beam of light left his body. He had given up and quite

    obviously failed the test.

"It seems my talent is far from enough. I''ve only found sixty-eight ws. Is this the end for me?" Another

cultivator sighed heavily, seemingly at the end of his rope. He was attempting toprehend a stick

form. It was said that there were more than three thousand and eight hundred ws to it.

There were already more than twenty cultivators in the void who had given up on the test.

"Have you given up on your test? What was it about?"

"It was a mantra form. I was told there were ny-eight ws, but I could not find any of them. Such

a terrible shame!" It was a rule cultivator who spoke.

"I only found seventeen, how frustrating!"

Those talents who had already quit were gathered together and conversing among themselves.

They soon found that their tests were for what they needed most. But it turned out to be too difficult and

    impossible for them to pass.

"I do hope these remaining talents can seed."

All those who stood by were engrossed in this challenge, watching closely those talents who were still

working, hoping someone could sessfully pass their test.

No one knew how long they had been here.

The light beams slowly faded, now leaving only five.

Only five of the forty had been able to hold on up until now.

"I''m curious to see who is still in it."

Those who had failed now pinned all their hopes on thesest five talents.

"It looks like it''s Darren, Finley, Jorge Jiang, Sandy Lou and Carman Jiang left."

They weren''t surprised to know that Darren was one of the five. Among those five, the other four meant

    nothing to them.

They had not expected anyone but Darren to make it this far, especially Finley.

Everyone knew he was Darren''s close friend, but they knew just as well that his strength was nothing

    to write home about.

Now however, they started to think that perhaps they should look at him in a different light.

As for the other three, they had not had any extraordinary performances since they were in the

Archean relic, but to their credit, they had persisted to the end.

"Darren and Finley, you must hold on!"

"Fear not. I''m not sure if Finley can make it, but Darren will. If I had taken part in the test, I''m sure I

would be able to as well. I may have even done better than Darren. Ah, what a pity!"

Weber had been knocked out in the first test. He woke up after the second test had begun, and so he

had no chance to take this one.

"Stop your nonsensical bragging, Weber! You couldn''t even pass the first round. If Darren hadn''t saved

you, you would have killed yourself," Lindsay rebuked, rolling her eyes at him. She couldn''t bear the

way he always seemed to be devoid of any sense of shame.

Weber said nothing more but just smiled awkwardly.

"Yes, she''s right. Weber, please just keep your mouth closed," Beatty said, ring at him intensely.

They turned back to the remaining light beams and soon after, another beam disappeared as another

    talent had given up.

This time it was Carman Jiang.

"How are you feeling, Carman? How many ws did you manage to find?"

"There are a total of seven hundred and sixty-five ws, and I found six hundred and eighty-one.

Unfortunately, that was all I could do. Anymore and my soul would have exploded," replied Carman

Jiang with a bitter and pained smile.

He had felt close enough to sess to almost touch it, but in the end, he had to give up.

    "Wow, what a pity!"

"I have to be honest. I had not expected you to be so powerful. Even with all the time we''ve spent

together, I failed to recognize your strength!" The talents close to him moved over andforted him.

"You know, my talent is actually at the top level of the Spiritual Domain Degree, ha-ha," revealed

    Carman Jiang proudly.

"What? Why did you keep that to yourself for so long? Huh?"

After another long wait, Jorge Jiang folded as well.

"There are only ten ws left. Ten!"

He yelled out in incredulous dissatisfaction. His eyes were bloodshot and when he joined the others, he

could do no more than shake his head and sigh continuously.

Then, all of a sudden, he fainted. The others hurried over to get him treated.

"Look, Darren seems to have moved!"

"I think you''re right, but it''s tough to see exactly what''s going on."

Everyone then saw it; within the beam of light Darren stood in, a shadow was dancing. But still, no one

could tell exactly what was going on.

"Is someone attacking him?" Weber shouted, his face darkening as he seemed to be on alert.

"No way. It couldn''t be that. No one attacked us," Lindsay responded, staring intently into the beam of

    light.

"I''m going to check what''s going on. I can''t see clearly from here!"

Sally could not contain herself any longer and flew towards Darren.

    p!

A ray of white light mmed into her back and left her shoulder bleeding.

"Ouch! It hurts! It hurts so much!" Sally screeched, bursting into tears.

"You should not have been so impulsive. Come here, let me give you a massage," offered Weber.

"Hey! Get away from Sally! She''s not some helpless little thing for you to take advantage of! Any closer

and I''ll beat you to a pulp," Beatty said furiously, staring Weber down.

"There must be some sort of misunderstanding. I just care about her, that''s it," Weber replied nervously

    in defense.

"Look how big that wound is, how could you rub that? Are you out of your goddamn mind? Leave us

alone!" Beatty yelled. Weber was perplexed, confused by what exactly he had done. He really did not

    know.

"Hey, quiet down. Look, Darren ising out!"

Darren then suddenly began to move out of the beam of light.

They all collectively held their breath and fixed their eyes on Darren, not a single one of them daring to

    blink. Had he done it?

Darren was everyone''sst hope. If he failed, it would mean it''d all end here.

The way they saw it, Finley and Sandy Lou were just doing their best to hold on, they would never

    actually seed.

It all depended on Darren and they all believed he would not let them down!
