Chapter 1227 Evil Spirit (Part Two)

Chapter 1227 Evil Spirit (Part Two)

Darren and the others did not dare to move when they sensed the danger. They gathered some dead

tree branches with their god''s power to build a tform to rest.

After they finished, Wilson walked around to ask the people, especially the men at the end of their

group, if they had sensed anything strange.

"Buddy, didn''t you notice that someone around you disappeared?" Wilson''s brow furrowed as he

    asked.

"No. I wasn''t aware that someone was missing." The man shook his head in confusion.

"How about you? What about you two?" Wilson asked several people, but none of them had sensed

anything bizarre. At a subconscious level, they felt that the people around them were still there.

"We must have run into an evil spirit," Wilson''s face paled as he muttered.

"What kind of evil spirit?" Darren questioned puzzled.

"Sir, you must have heard of the demonic monster race in the mortal world you lived in, right?" Wilson

nced at Darren as he asked.

"Yes, there is a demonic monster race."

"There is a rumor that the evil spirits in the Primitive Wilderness have evolved from the demonic

monster race in the mortal worlds. Since they don''t belong here, they just wander around and swallow

creatures'' souls, especially human souls to survive," Wilson elucidated.

"Yes, my father once mentioned something like that. The darkws in the Primitive Wilderness intensify

the strength of the evil spirits, making it challenging to deal with them," Lindsay added. She

remembered this detail when Wilson brought up the subject of evil spirits.

Darren nodded slightly and instructed, "Everyone, be on guard. We''d better move slowly, back to back."

"That might not be helpful, sir. Evil spirits have strong skills with which to confuse their targets. Even if

someone around us disappears, it can still control our consciousness and make us believe that no one

    is missing.

Besides, I feel as though an evil spirit is still near us. Perhaps it is hiding in a team member''s body

while it waits for a chance to attack again!" After Wilson finished speaking, everyone nced at each

other to see if anyone had an unusual expression.

While everyone appeared surprised, no one looked scared.

"This is going toplicate things. Are you sure that there''s still an evil spirit in our midst?"

"Yes, I''m certain. Usually, after the evil spirits devour the souls, they can''t hide in the void. So they will

attach themselves to someone''s body to avoid being detected. Now, the evil spirit has eaten five

people from our group. It can''t escape so fast. It must be here."

Wilson sounded so convinced that Darren and the others believed him.

"Everyone, stand up! Line up!" Darren roared.

Then, he stepped forward and examined everyone''s face.

He also used the Defiant Master''s god''s sense to probe for any clue that might help them figure out

whether the person had been possessed or not. However, he could not find any traces of the evil spirit.

"It has hidden from us so well," Darren murmured.

"Sir, you''ve missed a few people," Wilson whispered.

    "What?"

"Ahem. Mr. Finley Feng, Princess Lindsay, Jefferson, Duke, and I. You haven''t checked us." Wilson

was always careful and meticulous. He reminded Darren that every single person needed to be

examined, regardless of their rtionship with Darren.

"Wilson, are you tired of living? How dare you suggest that my body is host to an evil spirit?" Finley

    said angrily.

"That''s right. While that brat is weak enough to be fooled and consumed by an evil spirit, I am not. How

dare you imply such a thing? Go to hell!" Lindsay shouted as annoyance surged within her.

Both Lindsay and Finley were furious.

    N?vel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

"Please, calm down. The evil spirit is not only wicked but also very smart. If it wants to hide, it will

choose the person who has the best rtionship with the leader. Ahem," Wilson bowed his head and

rationalized. He knew that they were angry at his suggestion, but he harbored no ill-intent. It was

    prudent to be cautious.

    "You!" they shouted in unison.

"Well, he is right. I have to check everyone," Darren acknowledged.

"s." Finley shook his head before he continued, "Darren, I''m so disappointed that you doubt me."

"Fuck off! Did I say that? I''m just cautious," Darren pped Finley''s head as he retorted.

"Okay, okay," Finley said with a grin. While most people would find Darren''s manner too direct, Finley

    had gotten used to it.

Darren released his god''s sense to check the others, but he still couldn''t find anything unusual.

"Darren, you don''t have to check anymore. It''s not here," Aaron whispered. His eyes darted nervously

    as he checked their surroundings.

He had been silent all this time.

    "Aaron, what did you see?"

Darren remembered that Aaron could see many things that were invisible to others.

"I saw it." Aaron nced around before continuing, "It looks like a purple trumpet flower. It ate a few

    people, and then it fled."

"Why don''t you tell me this earlier?" Darren frowned as he ced a hand on Aaron''s head.

"I was scared. I believed it would take me from the group if it detected my intention to alert you. I didn''t

dare to say anything until I was certain that it had left." Admitting that he had been fearful wasn''t easy

for Aaron. His lips pursed, and his shoulders sagged as he exined.

"Well, don''t be afraid. Since it''s gone, we should continue forward."

"Wait!" Wilson shouted rmed. How could Darren believe the exnation so easily? He immediately

strode forward, knelt, and eximed, "Sir, you can''t believe him! I know a lot about evil spirits, and they

would never run away. The only possibility is that Aaron is lying about what he saw!"

Wilson pointed at Aaron and said it firmly.

Before Darren could speak, Finley''s face darkened. He raised his leg and kicked Wilson in the

    stomach.

"That''s enough. You can suspect anyone except Aaron," Finley remarked coldly.

Aaron rushed forward and clutched Darren''s cor. His voice trembled as he spoke, "Darren, I would

    never lie. I''m so scared."

"Mr. Feng, don''t act so impulsively. If we don''t find the evil spirit, everyone will be in danger, even you!"

Wilson said bitterly as he held his aching abdomen.

"Shut up! You''re crazy." Finley was about to hit Wilson again.

"Stop!" Darren roared as he walked forward. "There is nothing wrong in being careful. Don''t fight

    anymore."

He then turned to Wilson and asked, "If an evil spirit upies a body, would the body''s original owner

die? Or would the owner still live? Also, can the evil spirit ess the memories of the original owner?"

"After an evil spirit assimtes a soul, the original owner dies, and his body is reduced to mist. But, if an

evil spirit wants to hide in a person''s body, it can''t assimte the original owner''s soul. In that case, the

original owner is still alive. As for memory, it should not have ess to it," Wilson exined.

"Are you certain? If that is the case, then identifying the evil spirit will be much easier." Darren seemed

    more confident now.

"Yes. I am very sure!" Wilson said, gritting his teeth.

"Good." Darren finally found a way to resolve the situation.

At this time, Lindsay walked up to Wilson and red at him as she used, "Wilson, I want to ask how

you know so much about evil spirits."

"What?" The blood drained from Wilson''s face, and he found himself unable to speak.

"Humph. You can''t exin it, can you? You are the evil spirit! Otherwise, how would you know so much

about them?" As Lindsay spoke, waves of murderous intent began to spread through her body.

Pain shed in Wilson''s eyes as he continued to kneel on the ground.

"Princess Lindsay, I''m not an evil spirit. I... I was raised by one," Wilson trembled as he exined.

He didn''t want to recall the memory, nor did he want to tell anyone about it. His childhood was

miserable, and he''d rather forget about it.

"How dare you lie to me? Go to hell!" Fury coursed through Lindsay, and she stretched her hand and

    tried to hit Wilson.

At this time, Darren frowned and immediately rushed forward to fend off Lindsay''s blow.

"Tell me, Lindsay. Where did we meet for the first time?" Darren asked coldly.
