    Chapter 1063 The Bad News

Upon returning to the surface of the River of Forgetfulness, Darren flew alongside the river.

There was a powerful force ahead of him that shook the river. He could see how the river was on the

verge of copsing from the attacks on its restrictions.

Darren flew over and saw the dark aura around Barnes. The monkey had pushed his strength to the

    limit.

Ahead, Barnes was struggling to get through the fourthyer of restriction.

Soon, he fell to the ground with his stick in hand. It was evident that he was getting frustrated. "Alright. I

    give up," he said.

"What''s wrong?" Darren was smiling when he asked.

"This restriction is too powerful. I can''t seem to break it no matter what I do."

The River of Forgetfulness had eighteenyers of restriction. Darren had discovered that the immortal

was beyond the twelfthyer, which meant she was even more powerful than Barnes. After all, he

couldn''t even get pass the fourthyer.

Now, Darren''s strength had grown considerably the past years. But even if he used all his strength, he

could break through the fourthyer at most.

Knowing this, he spread his spiritual sense to search for any signs of the ancient senior holy warriors.

"Why are there a hundred thousand senior holy warriors from the ancient times preserved here?"

    Darren muttered.

"What senior holy warriors? Those aren''t just senior holy warriors. You can see how they have been

sealed so securely," Barnes pointed out.

Darren unleashed his spiritual sense again. It was then that he detected something unusual.

The stone-like figures at the bottom of the river had some strange rule powers suppressing them.

"Are they all half-step emperors?" Darren was surprised by this revtion.

"In the ancient times, most were tribtion holy warriors. They shouldn''t be at the level of half-step

    emperors," Barnes exined, yawning.

"So what kind of realm do you think they are in?" Darren asked.

"They''re at least at the peak of a six-tribtion senior holy warrior. Some may even be seven-tribtion

senior holy warriors." Barnes then soared up in the air. His deep, dark eyes swept far and wide.

    Darren frowned and remained silent.

"They sound dangerous enough to be a threat to humanity if ever they get out of the River of

Forgetfulness. In fact, they may be as dangerous as the first fiend ancestor." At this, the Water Kylin

    started to get anxious.

There were a hundred thousand of them. If all of them were six-tribtion senior holy warriors, their

    seven-tribtion senior holy warriors.

As they couldn''t get through the fourthyer of restriction, Darren and hispanions began to

    concentrate on their cultivations there.

However, Darren could not calm down because he could not help but imagine what the Godly City that

the witcher ancestor mentioned was like.

"Darren, you must leave the River of Forgetfulness at once."

The witcher ancestor''s voice suddenly came to Darren''s mind one day.

"Why?" Darren could sense something was wrong upon hearing the witcher ancestor''s tone.

"A crisis ising. The immortal has left here."

"Immortal? What turmoil will she cause?"

Darren didn''t understand what the witcher ancestor was talking about. The immortal had long been out

of his small world. She could have caused trouble anytime she wanted. And yet, the witcher ancestor

was iming that a turmoil wasing now.

"There is something you don''t understand. No outsider wants to be in this world. All of them long to go

back to the Primitive Wilderness. There''s only one way to return and that is to get the World Essence.

They can only acquire this by destroying this world," the witcher ancestor exined.

    "The World Essence?"

"Each mortal world has its own World Essence. It''s the only way to get to the Primitive Wilderness."

"Where do I find the World Essence?" Darren asked.

"No one knows, actually," the witcher ancestor answered.

"I think I got it now. You mean to say that the immortal ns to destroy this world to take its World

    Essence."

"Exactly! I think she''s leaving because she finally found out where the World Essence is. Once she

locates it, she''ll surely seize it for herself even if it means destroying the entire continent. Once that

happens, she''ll be returning to her world," the witcher ancestor said anxiously.

"I won''t be able to stop her if she really knows where it is." Darren began to worry as well, but there

was nothing he could do. The immortal was more powerful than him.

"You can''t stop her, but you can still find the Word Essence and hide it in another ce! That''s the only

    way," the witcher ancestor suggested.

This flustered Darren a bit. If the witcher ancestor''s spection was correct, the immortal would most

likely find the World Essence first before he could.

Sensing Darren''s disquiet, the witcher ancestor continued, "She was in a cave at the bottom of the river

before the thirteenthyer. That must be where she found the information on the World Essence. I''m

sending you there right now. See if you can find anything."

    "That''s great!"

Deep down, however, Darren felt like he still needed to find some more information about the World

Essence if he were to track down the immortal.

"You must be quick. If you can save the World Essence in time, then I can send you to the Godly City in

    three years."

    "Very well."

Darren nodded his head, and then turned to Barnes. "Barnes, the immortal has finally escaped. You

and the Water Kylin should go out of here too."

    "What?"

Barnes instantly opened his eyes and jumped up.

"Good that she''s out. I can stay here to cultivate. No one will disturb me." Barnes sneered after thinking

    for a while.

"Stop that. I heard the news that she has allied herself with the Inner Fiend. Do you think you can just

hide here?" Darren was only making up lies to get Barnes out of there.

    "No way!"

This seemed to have caught Barnes'' attention. A dark light shed in his body.

"Why would she choose to work with the Inner Fiend? She''s already too powerful. It''s unreasonable.

Where did you even get this news? You are clearly lying to me!"

Barnes red at him usingly. They were in the River of Forgetfulness after all. How could Darren

know her whereabouts when he himself couldn''t?

It didn''t even make sense that she would ally herself with the Inner Fiend.

"Believe it or not, it''s my wife who told me this." Darren had no choice but to push through with his lie.

Barnes was stunned by his friend''s determination. It made him hesitate. He had heard of Elsa and how

she was assimted by that immortal.

He knew Darren wouldn''t just mention her if he wasn''t telling the truth.

"My wife is inside the immortal''s body, so she''s a reliable source," Darren continued to lie.

"Bullshit! I don''t believe it! How can the Inner Fiend have such powerful ally?

He has nothing to offer to her," Barnes roared.

"You''re being obtuse. If you''re an immortal, are you willing to have an eight-tribtion senior holy

    warrior as your salve?"

Darren had made it clear that the two had gotten into an arrangement. The Inner Fiend would consider

her as his master if she would help him assimte Barnes. This would turn him into an eight-tribtion

senior holy warrior, and she would have a very powerful ve in her hands.

    "Argh!"

Barnes bared his sharp teeth making him look even more ferocious.

"Damn it, damn it!" Finally, he believed Darren.
