Chapter 598 The Impant City
E was a little hesitant.
She knew that Darren was very powerful but at the same time, she could not overlook the fact that
those who killed the vigers were some of the most evil viins in history. There were talks of how
even a five-star grand warrior cowered in their presence and struggled to escape from them for as long
as he could.
She felt that Darren''s power was no match for the enemy''s strength and cruelty.
Suddenly, a buzzing sound drew her back to reality.
The sound of shing metal rang around her.
E soon realized that the buzzing sound wasing from none other than Darren, who realized she
doubted his strength. Because of this, Darren decided to manifest his strength to prove to her just how
strong he really was.
Darren''s aura continually grew stronger and as his power emanated outward, his de and sword
intents also grew in their power and all creatures within a thousand kilometers began to tremble with
fear.
Although E was under Darren''s protection, she could still feel the power of his de and sword
intents as they radiated throughout the air.
It was, to her, indescribable as she could not think of anything more powerful than what she was
witnessing.
"Darren, are you a Holy Realm master?" E murmured in her soft, sweet voice.
"Not yet. But I think I will be one soon enough!" Darren answered with confidence.
Upon hearing what he had said, E began to wonder.
''If he is not far away from being a Holy Realm warrior, then does that mean that he is a seven-star
grand warrior?'' she thought to herself.
After having witnessed Darren''s formidable strength and having Darren himself reassure her of his
abilities, E became certain that he was indeed a seven-star grand warrior.
It was said that all the seven-star grand warriors were legendary masters.
They only existed in those powerful tribes or ns.
For so many years, E had been under the impression that anyone who came close to a seven-star
grand warrior would be murdered without a second thought. In all the tales she had heard about them,
they were described to be devils, evil beyondpare.
However, she had never thought that she would encounter such a gentle seven-star grand warrior such
as Darren. From the moment that they had met, Darren had not only helped her many times but also
treated her like family.
E suddenly felt blessed to have met him.
"Darren," she began. "My family was killed by the Divine Lunar Sect, which is a very evil faction." E
told Darren the whole truth about how the vigers died.
"How did you know that?" asked Darren, his heart crushed by what he had just found out.
"The elders told us stories of long ago when ournd was inhabited by people who were banished from
their homes for the crimes that theymitted. All the people who were found guilty formitting
such horrible crimes were exiled here and kept away from the rest of the world. As the years passed,
the poption of thend grew and soon, thisnd became an independent world.
But it was said that a small part of the poption was not part of those who were exiled but came to the
people to kill and sacrifice. Those people were the members of the Divine Lunar Sect. Over the years,
their power grew and spread all over thisnd. Their evil and power rival that of the devil''s that even the
Sacred Pce in the outside world has difficulty in handling them.
As for what it is like in the outside world or in the Sacred Pce, I have no idea.
More than a decade ago, not more than thirty kilometers from here, there was a vige called the
Peachy Cloud Vige. The Divine Lunar Sect left the vige devastated and destroyed everything that
was in it. They killed a huge number of people and left their bodies with hook-shaped marks. My
parents were also left with such marks on their bodies, so I believe that they were also murdered by the
Divine Lunar Sect."
E told Darren everything she knew.
Darren immediately examined the dead bodies after listening to E''s story.
His face paled as he looked closer.
The bodies were scarred but they did not have the hook-shaped marks E had told him about. The
marks on the bodies were in the shape of a half-cross, which were strangely identical to the mark
Darren had gotten on himself before.
"Do you know why they would target civilians?" Darren asked.
"I don''t know. The people of the Peachy Cloud Vige were ughtered more than ten years ago and
our vige has remained safe and sound until today." As she spoke these words, E was consumed
with anguish and began to tremble for she did not yet have the heart to face what had happened to her
and her family.
Darren began to grow worried and restless. He thought back to when he was mysteriously imprinted
with a half cross on his body. He remembered that even Hanson and Mathew were shocked by the
sudden event.
At that time, not knowing if the mark was good or evil, he had no choice but to hide in the Starry Tower
until his master''s avatar had returned to remove the mark.
"Let''s go!" Darren decided it would be better for them to leave and urged E to do so.
"Where do we go?" asked E, her eyes brimming with tears.
"I don''t know yet. Let''s get out of here first and decide after," Darren answered shortly.
E drew in a breath and straightened her back. "Before we go," she began. "Could I give my family a
proper burial first? I can''t bear to leave them on the ground like this."
Darren did not speak but began to use his de and sword intents. After circling around for a short
while, seven hundred and eighty pits were suddenly carved into the earth and were fitted to turn into
graves. Darren also used his de and sword intents to lift up the dead bodies and ce them in their
graves where they were buried properly and honorably.
"Thank you, Darren."
After saying her thanks, E knelt down in front of the graves and kowtowed three times. She wiped
her tears from her eyes before standing up to follow Darren.
After Darren and E flew away, a strange ripple appeared out of thin air.
Out of the ripple came out a short man whose features resembled that of y''s. He stared at the
direction where Darren and E had gone and then threw his head back andughed.
Darren held E''s hand as they flew forward. If he had not held onto her so tightly, she would have not
been able to keep up with him.
After a while, Darren began to speak. "When we find a ce that is suitable, I will set you down first.
Do you know such a ce?" Darren broke the silence with this.
E''s eyes grew wide. "Darren, I have no one left for me. Can''t I just stay with you? I don''t want to go to
a strange ce alone. I''m terrified!" She was panicked at hearing Darren''s proposition.
Darren nced at her. "Well... I didn''t mean that I would leave you for long. I also wanted to go around
and look for ces to settle in."
E breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, I see." She continued, "The vigers told me stories of many
powerful tribes and prosperous cities up north, but I have never been there before. I don''t know if they
really exist."
"Okay, up north it is."
With that, Darren sped up towards the north.
After a few hours, Darren and E were able to cover over ten thousand kilometers, in spite of their
slow speed.
Darren used his abilities to feel around them and was able to sense arge city a short distance away.
Darren did not wish to attract any attention so he and Ended on the outskirts of the city and walked
towards the downtown area.
"The Impant City."
Darren nced up at the name of the city imprinted on the gate door and found it interesting.
"Stop!"
One of the guards at the gate shouted and walked towards Darren and E.
"Is there something wrong?" Darren asked calmly.
"If you want to get inside the city, you must follow the rules." The guard puffed out his chest.
"What rules?" Darren asked.
"You must sign!"
The guard thrust two scrolls in front of Darren and E.
Darren opened the scrolls and scanned them quickly.
Upon reading them, he immediately understood why the city before them was called the Impant
City. The scrolls imed that nothing that the citizens of the city could do would ever be considered
wrong. No matter what they did, they were all regarded as innocent.
Moreover, if they wished to enter the city, they had to pay the guards at the gate a thousand magic
herbs or something of equal value in exchange.
"Darren, do we really need to get in?" E was hesitant after reading the scrolls.
"Aren''t you tired? We''ve been flying around all day. We need to get some rest." After giving it some
thought, Darren and E both signed the scrolls.
"Alright. Listen up, you little brats. No one in this city would care about who you are or where youe

from. If you die in this city, no one would even give it a second thought. Are you sure you want to go
in?" The city guard looked at them with disdain, feeling that neither Darren nor E possessed any form
of power.
"Why do you care so much about us? How does this look to you? I dare say it is worth at least two
thousand magic herbs."
Darren unsheathed his sword and waved it in front of the guard.
The guard''s eyes lit up. He recognized without a doubt that the sword in front of him was no ordinary
sword. Why? He knew it was worth far more than two thousand magic herbs!
"You may enter!"
the guard shouted.
Darren looked at him thoughtfully and began to speak. "Thank you! But before we go, I just have one
more question."
The guard sneered at Darren. "Shut up you piece of shit! Get the hell out of here if you don''t want to
enter now," he roared angrily.
"Wait, let him ask! He only needs to give us ten magic herbs!" Another soldier came running towards
them and cated the other guard.
"Here you go." Darren plucked out ten magic herbs from a small pouch and handed them over to the
guard. "I just wanted to know. If I killed you, no one would me me, right? I mean, after all, we are in
the Impant City."
